Great Plot

How is this series not talked about!? Ugh book 3 and 4 is not out on audio yet.😭

I'm obsessed! Only wish this was recorded in Duet not dual, that would have put this over the top! The performance was still good.

OH MY GOSH!!!!! This series has me in a chokehold… The complete CHAOS, the heartbreak, the betrayal!! 😫 I haven’t been able to put this series down since I started. The ending... The revelations we found out... OMG... I am absolutely shaking. I need a therapy session before I start book 3 or I'm just going to start the third book lol

I just can’t express the way this book sent me on a rip ride rocket rollercoaster. The way my jaw DROPPED SEVERAL TIMES & THE LAST 20% OF THE BOOK, or let me say THOSE LAST TWO CHAPTERS🤯🤯

Character growth throughout & character development is MASSIVE. You don’t know who you trust and your opinion on characters will change massively throughout the book.

I fell in love with so many character storylines in this book! Hunter and Kai’s relationship was so well written; I couldn’t help but root for some kind of happy ending for the two of them. Xavier was always such a mystery and the secrets that were told have me losing my mind! Forest and Fallon’s dynamic was constantly touch and go for me in this book which I believe was intentional and added to the suspense. I was constantly on the edge of my seat trying to keep up with all the info that kept being revealed.

This is the kind of series that invigorates my soul. The story requires you to think and stay completely focused. I LOVE when I’m using all my senses while reading. I felt the flesh wounds. I could smell the ash and metallic iron in the air. I could hear the ear piercing screams. I could see the damage caused from war. I could taste the blood. I am not well!

The way the book ended & the things Forest did. Wow. That is how you do a book justice👏🏽 That ending has got me in the chokehold and I am not well! The epic fight scenes are graphic and heart racing. The romance is a big bonus to the already captivating plot. You’ll find yourself constantly changing your opinion on different characters. UNAPOLOGETIC FEMALE RAGE. Character arcs, character development, character annihilations; no one is safe and I am not well!!

Audiobook
Isabelle Turner & Anthony Palmini both deliver a great performance! Their delivery and cadence are spot-on, perfectly matched to the flow of the story and keeping you locked in from start to finish. You can feel that they’re fully invested in the storyline, which only draws you in deeper.

Good overall story

Essentially a post apocalyptic, deeply classist society with a vampire-sequel twist. I liked it enough to keep listening and purchasing. However, there is some deeply redundant language use throughout both the first and second books that drive me crazy. Characters “silently” say, speak, etc. though they are clearly verbalizing for others to hear. Some additional mis-use of language where the intent and the actual meaning of the word choice don’t align. It’s something a good editing sweep should have flushed out. If you can get past that, it’s a good listen overall.

Wow!!! I absolutely love how well this book was performed!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Had two of my top 5 favorite actors!!!
What I like most about the book are the parallels to modern society, the situational, relationship drama! It’s empowering, provoking , and not for the faint of heart! I had a few favorite chapters, and that quickly turned into the whole book lol hands down one of the greatest performances I’ve herad this year!!

loved the first book; character development, plot, writing, action etc...beautiful!
this book needs significant editing and character adjustments. I started to severely dislike FMC Forest bc of the second book and I might not move into the next book. I had really high hopes for this series bc of the first book (amazing, 5 stars across the board), this one did not make the cut 😓. I got really bored at times, turned up the speed past 2x to get through those parts..
