Make 'and' now back to the text' a drinking game

I am shocked that this version was ever published. I have never witnessed so many complete distractions from the text from the reader's own commentary. The only time that is appropriate is when the author is the reader. you have to listen incredibly closely to ensure that you're getting what the author intended versus the reader's own commentary

Performance is ruining excellent info

I'm a big fan of Sisson. He knows his stuff and he updates info as he learns more. My problem is with the performance. It's honestly TERRIBLE!

I've done this type of work. It's tough to do. Mr Kearns hasn't done his homework. He adds odd pauses, gets hung up mid-sentence, incorrectly pronounces common words, and- worst of all- adds an annoying chuckle to his voice at completely inappropriate times.

Mark Sisson's work deserves a much better presentation. I'm profoundly disappointed! Is Brad Kearns a friend of a friend at Primal, perhaps? I just can't understand how he was given this work.

Good content, very irritating narration

This is the first book I've listened to on Audible that I wished I had just purchased in hard copy instead. The narrator adds his own content, opinions and emphasis instead of just reading the book. It sounds more like a podcast than an audiobook.

A+ Content; F Narration

As a listener of an audiobook, you shouldn't have to guess when you're hearing the actual book vs when you're hearing the narrator editorializing. Unfortunately, that's required if you listen to this version.

Kearns sounds like a nice guy, but he mispronounces words regularly, inserts random pauses, peppers the narration with "uh"s, and adds awkward laughs to serious messages from the author. Just not high quality as you'd expect from everything else Sisson touches.

At first....

So at first the editorial comments the narrator threw in bugged me. Then, he states later in the book that the narrator is also a co-author. This made his comments make more sense to me and not just some narrator throwing in his two cents. Very informative book and easy to follow.

Very personal and involved audiobook.

Amazing how many people reviewing here obviously did not listen to the book at all. The narrator was a co-author and all the "ramblings" and interruptions, almost felt like it was more of a session with an expert in a small round table discussion around a topic than an audiobook, which was awesome. It is not for boring people or those who are too serious about silly imperfections, which to me, added to the natural and personal feel of the audiobook.

Much more value due to the inserts than just what the book has to offer. Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommended to many people who all felt the same way.

great book, sound advice!

I follow most of the rules and I feel great! better than losing weight is the mental clarity that comes with following the diet. even if I didn't lose weight I'd still adhere to the diet for how it makes me feel

Amazing information but nails on a chalkboard

Life-changing information. Using this book I’ve gained more mental clarity and sustain energy but the narration is pretty rough. I didn’t know one could sound so condescending while reading a book.

Great listen, worth getting!

Someone said they found the readers little deviations from the printed text with his own additional information to be distracting or annoying or something. However, he is clearly knowledgeable and we found it enhanced the experience as well as at times being quite amusing.

Brilliant information, poor narration

As a previous commenter remarked on, the narration is frustrating. Mumbling, stumbling and basic reading errors take the emphasis off the information which as always is fantastic. I have enjoyed all the Primal Blueprint series, text and audio, but this is a disappointment.

Great narration

I almost didn't get this book because of the bad rap the narrator got in reviews. I got it anyway. Brad Kearns style and knowledge adds to the narration and turns what otherwise could be just a reading of the book into a friendly conversation type of presentation.

Change your diet, change your life.

Really enjoyed the book. I’ve implemented Mark’s strategies and life’s good. Took about 4 weeks to adapt but now it’s like I’m a different person. Would prefer to listen to Mark speak than this bloke though. IMO.
