Young adult fantasy

This was a good coming of age story for young adult fantasy. A lot about dead bodies being used in different ways, so if you don't like a little grotesque then maybe it's not for you.
A young boy loses his family in a war and is badly burned. He is taken to a city where undead is common place and raised by a necromancer. He has a crush on a young vampire, and he has a ghoul for a best friend. There is a war with an empire going on in the background.
Enjoy.

Good Performance, boring book

It is a rather blaze book. Nothing that interesting happens. I don't feel that I cared much about the MC. It is just meh.
