Publisher's summary

A fun, gay romantic romp, within a cozy mystery setting: When Jack moves into the vintage carriage house he inherits, he has no idea that his book-dealer uncle’s suicide might have been murder: not until a handsome detective comes knocking at his door to ask questions, where the powerful attraction between the two young men leads to much more than just a murder investigation. Nottinghill Lane is situated in a beautiful old neighborhood in a charming small town on Rainbow Lake. The lane is a cul-de-sac inhabited by interesting historic homes and eccentric characters, a literary enclave where everyone has a devotion to a favorite author. But can books lead to murder?

Mike is one who has never questioned good sexuality but on meeting Jack finds himself drawn to him. As he comes the know Jack he starts to question his own sexuality. As the case he's on unfolds little by little, the relationship between the two men also unfolds. Then there is the case he's on and the people who live on the street with Jack. Books!

rainbow-spectrum, romance, cozy-mystery, short

First there was Rainbow Lake, then came Nottinghill Lane, then came all the wonderful books and the rainbow of neighbors who loved them. But then the bookseller died and the artist nephew moved in. Finally the town detective began to investigate a hunch about the death, and soon learned some new things about himself and the artist!
The audio is narrated by the author, and you can't go wrong with that!
I won the audiobook in a giveaway!

Clever Names - Clever Premise

I’d hoped for more from the description of this Audible audiobook. It’s hard to pinpoint what disappoints, but ‘The Naked Detective’, book one in the Book & Page Nottinghill Lane Mystery Series, just didn’t work for me.

The characters were, for the most part, charming and cleverly written. The narrative by the book’s author, was well done with tonal inflections ideal for each character. ‘The Watcher’ was intriguingly mysterious.

I will try one more book in the series in the hope that it gets better as even more transpires between Detective Mike Book and artist Jack Page.

Wonderful mystery!

It has been awhile since I've read a good mystery. Mike and Jack were the most normal in the whole little neighborhood. These people were so funny. I loved the playfulness from the beginning between Jack and Mike. The author does a great job with the narration. If you like mysteries with charming eccentric characters that make you smile, this is one you should enjoy.

A nice story with a good twist to it!

This book was a different kind of story for me. It was a big change of reading style. But I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. The story was cute, while it told the story of what happened and to whom. The narrator was easy to listen to and the voices he created was very pleasant to listen to. I would have to s as y that I would read this author again, just to explore more of this style of writing.
