Publisher's summary

He captured her for revenge. She stole his heart in return.

The Lord Sir Bryce Waryn has dreamed for years about the day when he will finally liberate his home from the Scots who killed his parents and stole his brother's birthright. Now that day is finally upon him, only his brother has abdicated the title of lord of Bristol Manor to him. Bryce should be celebrating, but something unexpected stands in his way - the sister of the Scot who held Bristol.

In the chaos of the raid, Lady Catrina Kerr was injured and left behind. Bryce takes her captive, hoping to exact an even more satisfying revenge on his enemy, except the fiery beauty is far more compelling than he would like....

The Captive

Raised by three elder brothers, Lady Catrina Kerr knows a thing or two about stubborn men. But Bryce is more strong-willed than all of her brothers combined. He's also maddeningly handsome, brave, and kind - but no matter how compelling her captor, she's intent on escaping him. Only then will she be able to protect her brothers.

But as Bryce's plan escalates and her feelings for him intensify, she finds herself facing an unthinkable choice between her family and the man who has captured her heart.

The Lord's Captive is the second book in a historical romance series set in 13th century Northumbria along the Anglo-Scottish border. If you like strong female heroines, alpha-male heroes, and sizzling romance, you'll love the second installment of the Border Series.

The Lord's Captive can be listened to as a stand-alone novel.

Wonderful

A wonderful tale of a scottish lass held captive, sort of, by a handsome English warrior. They should be enemies but their passions for each other say differently . When it's time to return her to her people can she stop him from a deadly fight with her brother and will they have a future together.

Awesome book!

I absolutely love this book and the series it comes from. The narrator read this very well and I loved the heroine's Scottish accent. I fully intend to read and listen to all the books in this series.

wonderful story

loved the characters and the narrator. the story is so intriguing when you think you have ending figured out, it turns in another direction and you will sit on pins and needles until the last minute. the narrator brings the story to life. his portrayal of each character is distinct and wonderful.

I enjoyed listening to this book even more than reading it previously!

This audio book is well narrated. The voice inflections are excellent. The narrator's voice is soothing rather than grating.

I had previously read an ARC of this book before it came out in kindle edition in 2017.

I received a complimentary audio book in exchange for this review of this edition which I voluntarily listened to. This in no way affected my opinion of this audio book.

Exquisitely well-written story.

I have the written copy of this book and did a review for it, but was given the chance to listen to it too well I jumped at that offer. Loved Sienna Frances she did a wonderful job. Ms. Mecca has a way of developing characters that you become total involved in. This is a prime example of what a very talented author can produce. It was great to read and listen to this story again. I am so glad I have it in my collection.

The Lord's Captive

Cecilia Mecca has brought us another fabulous story in the Border Series. With the help of Sienna Frances, the talented narrator, the collaboration has provided us with another awesome audiobook. I love the depth and stubbornness of the characters and in this well written story of love and forgiveness. Keep your heart open and love will find you. I highly recommend this series of audio books. I was hooked after reading the first book and then added the audio books.

The hero is very “properly English “

I loved the story but I still prefer the passionate way of the Highlander’s heroes. The Scottish style is much “warmer”!
