Publisher's summary

Detective Max Rupert's and attorney Boady Sanden's friendship is being pushed to the breaking point. Max is convinced that Jennavieve Pruitt was killed by her husband, Ben. Boady is equally convinced that Ben, his client, is innocent. As the case unfolds, the two are forced to confront their own personal demons.

Max is still struggling with the death of his wife four years earlier, and the Pruitt case stirs up old memories. Boady hasn't taken on a defense case since the death of an innocent client, a man Boady believes he could have saved but didn't. Now he is back in court, with student Lila Nash at his side, and he's determined to redeem himself for having failed in the past.

Vividly told from two opposing perspectives, the truth about the stunning death of Jennavieve Pruitt remains a mystery until the very end.

Couldn't stop listening to the book had to rush through it.

I was extremely disappointed that Amy McFadden only had a small part of narration. Disappointed that she didn't do all of the female portions of the book. As a matter fact it seemed that she only had a very short part of this narration. Not sure she should've been listed as as narrators since she only participated and maybe one chapter?
Otherwise it was a great great book.

Allen Eskens has done it again! You will definitely want to listen to this one!

As with his last book that I LOVED (The Life We Bury) Allen Eskens has succeeded in writing a suspenseful mystery that kept me on the edge the entire time. Who did it? What will happen next? And many other questions that will keep you listening and wanting more. You just never know with Allen and that is what makes him so great. This is truly murder mystery at its finest!!!

Didn't see it coming

A gripping read. The story wasn't quite at "the life we bury" level for me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the continuation of characters. Lila and Rupert are dynamic while making it easy for the reader to maintain nostalgia. Another A+ for Eskens.

played like a movie

I'm listening and could easily play out the scenes like it was an CSI or Murder she wrote episode.

Good book- hard to listen to the reader.

Where does The Heavens May Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story was really good, the person reading it made it hard to listen, but the story was good enough to overcome that.

What did you like best about this story?

The twists

How could the performance have been better?

The person reading this was so very hard to listen to.

Little bit expected, little bit twist

I enjoyed this narration and the twists and turns in the story line. First read from this author and love the multiple narrators.
