Welcome to Haver-Towne. The sedate colonial resort is the perfect place where Stew Fanshawe can get away from it all for a while. But instead finding tranquility and self-reflection, Stew finds something much more unique: a town that was once steeped in a quagmire of witchcraft, satanic debauchery, and centuries-old occult science. Indeed, Haver-Towne has a most colorful history: A warlock who sires children with his own daughter. A witch whose sheer diabolism staggers even the most demented. And a 300-year-old mansion in whose walls are embalmed the infernal secret of...Witch-Water.

Publisher's Summary
Andrew McCarthy grows concerned for his family after he catches a young man, Zachary Denton, photographing his daughter, Grace McCarthy, and other children at a park. To his dismay, Zachary talks his way out of trouble when he’s confronted by the police. He hopes that’s the end of it. Then he finds Zachary at a diner and then at a grocery store. He knows their encounters aren't coincidences. And just as Andrew prepares to defend his family, Grace vanishes.
As the police search stalls and the leads dry up, Andrew decides to take matters into his own hands. He starts by searching for sex offenders in the area and researching enhanced interrogation techniques.... He convinces himself he’ll do anything to rescue his daughter, unaware of the pure evil he'll face in his journey. He’s willing to hurt - to torture - anyone to save his family.
Jon Athan, the author of Into the Wolves’ Den and The Abuse of Ashley Collins, delves into the underworld of internet predators in this disturbing horror novel. Are your children safe?

Ugh, Wrong in Every Way!
NO SPOILERS! First off, this book is over the top violent but that is not my reason for the bad rating. It was violent just for the sake of being obnoxiously violent. The narrator was awful. He sounds like he is about to start laughing and this book is not funny at all.
I quit 3/4 in because it was getting more and more ridiculous. I like books that have logic and this one is missing it in spades. I hated this book.

Thought provoking story with WORST NARRATION ever
Absolutely the worst narration I’ve ever listened to. Odd pronunciations (i.e. transients pronounced as tran-gents) and very stilted and awkward narration that sounded like someone was learning to read. “Little dude” was particularly annoying. It was awful. I sped up the narration to 1.4 just to get through it quicker.
The storyline itself was very graphic and certainly not for everyone. I did find the details on how pedophiles groom or blackmail their victims enlightening and it was also thought provoking on the lengths one would go to to find their own abducted child. It’s a scary world we live in.
Will I listen to this again? No. Do I regret listening to it? Also no.

Amazing and Tactful
Very well written. I didn’t think I would like this one as much as I did. The topic is one that is hard to think about, let alone to come up with scenes and creative methods of torture for pedophiles. He really dives into viewpoints and emotions of both the main character and everyone he was involved with. Gory, emotionally gripping, and violent Jon has done it again!!

Meh,
Plot was basically non-existent for the second half of the book. Felt rushed, like they author was trying to race to a conclusion while still including as much graphic stuff as possible. I normally find nothing wrong with extremely graphic storytelling, but that's when it is actually a good way to advance the plot. This just came off as torture p*rn in all honesty, no actual substance to the story, just a gore filled jumble. Would not recommend at all, honestly just a gross book with a less than enticing storyline.

Enjoyed the book …. If one can say that?
This book was recommended to me when I asked some people online for a real thriller/can’t put down type of book to listen to.
I did read it very quickly, but the narrator was very hard to get past. It almost sounded like the audio got stuck a couple of times and his accent kept changing and slowing down. I even tried speeding the book up which made it worse.
However, it was an interesting listening because I know nothing about this world apart from what I hear on the news.
I feel like the story lost itself a little bit towards the end, but all in all it kept my interest.

Disturbing, emotional, & compelling. Great Book!
This book is graphic, disturbing, and not for anyone who can't handle torture of children or adults. However, it's very good and and excellent eye opener of the life of pedophiles. It will make any parent understand just how protective we should all be and remain to our children. It's gruesome and REAL. Jon Athan did a terrific job on this book and I'm sure had a tough time writing it. I gave it 5 stars mainly because it's a book I will NEVER forget, nor get mixed up with any other book. I couldn't put it down no matter how bad I wanted to at times. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

TERRIBLE NARRATION!
The story is ok if you’re into extreme horror, although the author takes a horrifying real-world premise and turns it into something that seems completely ridiculous by the end.
The narration tho, is possibly the most amateurish that I’ve ever heard. How did this person get chosen to narrate ANYTHING? It’s like listening to a first grader trying to read Stephen King aloud or something. From the stilted, un-natural delivery, to the constant mispronunciation of words, this is HORRENDOUS! But the worst part probably is that the narration doesn’t fit the tone of the horrific story at all. It sounds like he’s reading a children’s book. Goofy, cartoonish over-the-top voices while reading some of the most awful, depraved stuff you can imagine. Just ridiculous. If you really want to read this book, I would advise staying far away from the audio version.
