Who would you trust with the most important thing in your life?

Heading out for their first date night in two long years, Yoselyn and Joel Cooper entrust their son, two-year-old River, to their frequent babysitter, Kristine Sloan. Kristine has proven to be reliable and caring, looking after River like a little brother. So, it was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful, romantic night for the couple.

But Kristine has different plans up her sleeves—different callings in her mind, different voices to please.

Jon Athan, the author of Are Your Parents Home? and Our Dead Girlfriend, changes the ‘babysitter from hell’ formula with his first extreme horror novella. Don’t worry, you’re in good hands...

This book was great! Splatterpunk at it's best!! And the narrator, chefs kiss as usual! Highly recommend this book.

John Athan strikes again with another great work of terror. This is one of those rare books that gave me genuine chills and made my body real shifty.

Incredibly gruesome and disturbingly graphic

amazing story!

For his first "extreme horror novella," as I've heard it called, JA knocked it out of the park with the wickedness, religious extremism, babysitter-from-beyond-hell books I've ever read.

Yoselyn & Joel are heading out for their first date night since their rambunctious son was born, so they hire Christine, a babysitter they've used before. But this time won't be the same as in the past...

She hears her "father/lord/savior" on the TV, and things go downhill pretty quickly. And very violently.

Graphic and gruesome

So glad to start the year with a new Jon Athan release. It feels like it’s been forever.

This one’s a novella, but don’t let the length fool you, Athan does not pull back on the gore or the creativity.

By the end of chapter one, you pretty much know exactly how this is going to end. But honestly, that’s not the point. The real appeal is the journey to that depraved, inevitable conclusion. There’s a bit of setup and a short side date night tangent before things really kick but once the mutilations start, they hit.

What stuck with me most, not just the crazy mutilation scenes, was how believable the extreme disassociation felt. The way belief becomes the driving force behind something this violent is disturbing in a very real way.

If you’re here for splatterpunk, over-the-top brutality, and Athan doing what he does best, this delivers. A wild time.
