New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Carissa Broadbent returns with a brand new novel in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk.

Mische made the ultimate sacrifice to save those she loves—and plunged the world into an eternal night. Now, imprisoned by the gods and obsessed with revenge, Asar is desperate to find her again.

When a goddess offers them a final path to redemption—and back to each other—Asar and Mische embark on an extraordinary mission. Together, they must seize the power of the god of death so Asar may do the impossible: ascend to true divinity.

Their journey will take them through mortal and immortal realms, alongside both old friends and ruthless enemies. But as the underworld teeters on the brink of collapse and the gods prepare for a war, Asar and Mische must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the power to defy death. In a game of vengeful gods and ancient betrayals, there are some debts that even love may not be able to repay.

This book did not stop. It took me through every emotion there is waiting to find out how it would all end up. Mische is one of my favorite FMCs. Through tragedy and battles and overall terrible situations, she manages to show up in a loving manner. She always has a cause and strives to do the best in the face of adversity. I love her friendship with Raihn and his big sad puppy dog face. There was a severe lack of Raihn and Oraya in the last book and this was just barely met the mark of almost enough. Raihn and Oraya loving Mische so much that they welcomed and were civil to Asar (for the most part) spoke buckets of Mische.

Asar’s struggle with figuring out the path of most impact without losing everything he loved (even when sacrificing himself for them) really made my hesitations towards him dissipate. Mische and Asar’s depth of love and willingness to sacrifice themselves for the other was a regular theme in this book. It was frustrating and heartwarming and the best/worst.

I’m speculating who the third couple will be in the final two books. I am looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up.

an emotional rollercoaster

Broadbent builds strong characters! And, Luce was a precious touch. Additionally, I loved the character, Morthryn! Not just a setting;)

What an extensive underworld Broadbent has built!

I love the characters and explicit story line of their adventures. There is so much detail, and description to each one of them. The story was great. I loved the series.

The story line that brings all the characters together from start to finish.
