Publisher's summary
New York Times best-selling author Diane Chamberlain delivers a thrilling, mind-bending audiobook about one mother's journey to save her child.
When Carly Sears, a young woman widowed by the Vietnam War, receives the news that her unborn baby girl has a heart defect, she is devastated. It is 1970, and she is told nothing can be done to help her child. But her brother-in-law, a physicist with a mysterious past, tells her that perhaps there is a way to save her baby.
What he suggests is something that will shatter every preconceived notion Carly has. Something that will require a kind of strength and courage she never knew existed. Something that will mean an unimaginable leap of faith on Carly's part.
And all for the love of her unborn child.
The Dream Daughter is a rich, genre-spanning, breathtaking audiobook about one mother's quest to save her child, unite her family, and believe in the unbelievable. Diane Chamberlain pushes the boundaries of faith and science to deliver a story that listeners will never forget.
Critic reviews
"Chamberlain writes with supernatural gifts...fate, destiny, chance and hope combine for a heady and breathless wonder of a read." (Pam Jenoff, New York Times best-selling author of The Orphan's Tale)
"Can a story be both mind-bending and heartfelt? In Diane Chamberlain’s hands, it can. The Dream Daughter will hold readers in anxious suspense until the last satisfying page." (Therese Fowler, New York Times best-selling author of Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald)

When Jane Forrester takes a position as Grace County’s newest social worker, she doesn’t realize just how much her help is needed.

My favorite author does time travel.
I absolutely love Diane's books and I wait anxiously for each one to come out. I try to force myself not to listen to all of it in one sitting. I have listened to quite a few of her books and I think Susan Bennett does a wonderful job.
This is a very different novel from all her others, as the author mentions in the preface. I love time travel but often I find the stories lacking something. This is a winner. A great Diane Chamberlain story with a huge twist.

Superb!
Oh gosh, I LOVED this book! Carly Sears was an amazing woman! What she went through to keep her daughter on this earth and so much more, was incredible. I will listen again, definitely. Was on the edge of my seat and couldn't wait to get to the end. I have recommended this book to my book friends! I guess it's on a waiting list at the library. : ) Thank you Diane! Excellent narration too by Susan Bennett !!!
