Publisher's summary

The number one best-selling trilogy is now available as a single audiobook! This audiobook contains 100 Days in Deadland, Deadland's Harvest, and Deadland Rising.

100 Days in Deadland: The world ended on a Thursday. In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering zombies with an insatiable hunger for the living.

Deadland's Harvest: It has been 100 days since the zombies claimed the world. Cash, along with 42 survivors, have found safety in the secluded and well-guarded Fox National Park. The leaves are changing colors, a beautiful, brutal reminder that winter is coming. As the survivors prepare for freezing months without electricity and not enough food, they learn of massive zombie herds several hundred miles north...and headed their way.

Deadland Rising: It has been nearly one year since the zombie hordes claimed the world. As the plague eats away at its victims' bodies, the Fox survivors search for a safe place to rebuild what they have lost. But a dangerous new threat has risen, hunting them from every direction.

Good book with zombies, bad guys and good guys

I like that this book is written from a woman's point of view. The female lead was an office drone before the zombie event. She just sat at a desk and was happy with that. When she was faced with a life or death situation in the ladies rest room, she fought for her life, killed the zombie and then escaped the building. She ended up pairing with a truck driver/farmer/former Army Ranger named Clutch. He nicknamed her Cash. Cash had to quickly learn fighting and survival skills. The story is about their adventures and misadventures in the dangerous world of zombies and criminal humans.

There are a host of supporting characters, exciting action scenes, and love events, I enjoyed the book. It is a very good sound zombie book but not as outstanding as some. It is particularly good that all three books in the series are included in this one credit. That is a great bonus. I do recommend that you give it a listen. One negative comment, at first the narrator's voice sounds as if she is bored with her reading assignment. That put me off when it happened. Most of the time, however, she did a good job and handled male voices as well as female voices.

Twilight with zombies - no thanks

Adolescent, not really for genre veterans. Smacks of the Twilight Series and weirdly, undertones of 50 Shades.

Never Judge a book by its cover :-)

I had this book series in my wish list for awhile. I kept bypassing it mostly because of its cover (I know the old adage)… but anyway,
I finally downloaded the 3 part saga, and was very glad I did. I am sorry passed it up as often as I did for some other drivel.
I thoroughly enjoyed all three books and the 27+ hours of listening was certainly worth the credit.
I have logged 100's of zombie apocalypse hours and I have to rank this series up at top.
Well written and well narrated - and kept my interest throughout.

oh dear narrator

The story was pretty good, with only a few unimportant inconsistencies, I rather liked it. Sorry to have to say that the narration just didn't work.

Good if you’re a young adult. Bland otherwise

Ok. So if I was 13-16 I’d like it. Love it even. However. I’m not. I’m 20 and have read many books. This book is so predictable if you’re a seasoned reader of apocalyptic books and at times painfully corny. Example “his broad shoulders and inner strength reminded me of a strong oak. He’s my oak” (roughly worded). The pain love interest Cluch (spoilers) has his whole body trampled, spin injury and even head but of COURSE she can’t let him go. She believes in him. He somehow recovers. Each book gets progressively better and then plummets back down to stupid. If you want a good zombie series, go read The Remaining. Would not recommend if you’re over 16. Under? Go for it. A good read.

Predictable to a fault

I just couldn't get into this one. I love the genre and I've enjoyed most books on the subject but this one felt so blah. It was painfully predictable and provided too much detail in unnecessary places but too little when it was actually warranted. I'm really surprised by the reviews that rate it high. I don't know what the heck they found so enjoyable.

Meh. Just ok.

The story itself wasn’t bad but there were three primary problems that kept it from being fully enjoyed:
1. I certainly don’t mind a sex scene in a story if it’s used at an appropriate time and it furthers the story and/or strengthens character development. Here, the couple times sex was described, the book went from a YA type novel to raunchy sex very abruptly — making you feel like you started reading a totally different story. In three paragraphs, it goes from YA to raunchy sex back to the YA novel. It just seemed unnecessary and I’m really not clear why the author felt compelled to throw in as many sexually explicit wording she could on a couple random pages?? These scenes stood out, but only because they didn’t fit with the rest of the narrative.
2. Either the author didn’t bother with an editor or the editor didn’t bother editing. There were chunks of copy that were repeated several times - sometimes within just a few paragraphs of each other. It felt like the author had moved text to a new spot in the chapter but seemingly forgot to delete it from the prior spot. I counted more than 15 places that occurred — and I’m not counting the repeats as she transitioned between each book in this collection.
3. The narration needed an editor BADLY as well - book 2 was the WORST and might be the worst I’ve ever heard from Audible. It’s like she was reading from a TelePrompter set at a speed to slow so that there was a noticeable and annoying pause between the last words of every sentence. The narrator actually seemed so distracted at one point I almost just stopped 12+ hours through because I couldn’t take listening to her anymore.
Overall, the story itself was decent. Worth a credit if it’s not your last one and/or you want a longer story to fill a long car ride or a light read while you multitask!

GOOD zombie entry

The full 3 novels are included. It’s standard zombie fare. Has interesting characters and good action sequences. It’s worth the credit.

Narration is very good and she brings the characters to life. I enjoyed the ending most of all and it’s narrative that relates to the current political class.

bit lame

I wasn't a big fan of the world. Didn't like the kind of zombies, virus driven but still sort of undead and dogs with zombie rabies. Thought having a female perspective would be interesting and to some extent it was. Good narration though. She did male voices better better than most male narrators do female voices.

Love this!

I read then re-read this book, now I've listened and re-listened to the audiobook. I think overall it's the connection between the main characters that I find most appealing. I enjoyed Holly Jackson giving Cash and Clutch a voice. Would recommend this audiobook to anyone who is a fan of the zompoc genre

Absolutely fantastic

i wasn't sure how I'd feel listening to a book like this, but after being so impressed with the last series of books I listened to by Rachel Aukes, I wanted to give it a try. I am so pleased I did as I loved the story from start to finish

Predictable

This is just zombie pulp fiction. Nothing special. The narration was only passable doesn’t have the skill for voice characterisation.

A good read, IMO.

Likable characters with manageable flawed. The story didn't attempt to dominate the world, stayed locals.

Really good story.

I liked that I could buy this series with one credit not sure if I ever would have bought them individually with each book only being approx 5-6 hours long.
But really enjoyed this story and found it had a good balance of action and down time giving a chance for character development. The narrators almost nonchalant breezily way of speaking took a while to get used to but her ability to tell the story and keep you engaged was good.
