I really really enjoy his writing. His stories are captivating. I can listen to them over and over. Also Kim Bretton is an awesome narrator.

Amazing Story by Christopher Artinian

This series and the End of Everything Series have turned into some of my favorite stories. The characters that Christopher Artinian writes will stay with you long after the book ends. I am constantly wanting more and with so many books, I’ve been spoiled.
The action DOES NOT disappoint. Yes there’s some gore but I don’t mind that, I actually prefer it in “zombie” stories.
You will be on the edge of your seat at some points, you will laugh and you will cry at some points. The writing is that good. The characters are that well developed and the narration by Kimberly Bretton is perfect.
Please give us more Christopher!

predictable but still a nice listen. enjoyed the story line. but I'm a hard-core zombie guy and would love more blood n guts.

Better than most

I've been plowing through a lot of zombie stories as I sit at my desk in my new Covid-driven WFH reality. I am a huge fan of anything post-apocolyptic and/or undead. I have listened to all of Zuco's oeuvre, the whole Extinction series and the odd one-off's. I would also like to mention (as a point of reference, not to sound haughty) I also listened to the entire works of Sherlock Holmes, the HG Wells collection and a ton of Dickens, the latter batch being narrated by currently famous actors and stupendously entertaining.

So having said that, the main thrust of this review is about the narration. I did truly enjoy the story and cared about the characters. Since there is a TON of foreshadowing, we have to worry about them for a good while before the outcome is revealed. I listened to the whole series in three days.

I was absolutely enchanted by this narrator. Unlike many of the others in this genre, I knew which character was speaking by the tone and accent delivered. (God help me I love Bronson Pinchot but all of his women sound whiny and same-y) The pacing is excellent and the whole story felt like it was a movie in my head. I completely forgot that it was a woman narrating. I got so absorbed in the story and her narration was so good, there was only one character that took me out if it a bit, and that got better over time: she voices an American and it takes her a bit to settle into the accent. The rest of characters are British and she really smashes those accents. North, south, Scottish, Northern Ireland and Posh.

It does have a very British sensibility, a fair amount of emotion vs. "lie back and think of England" and that was nice to see. Some truly fierce characters and a few excellent twists. Things never go the way they are supposed to in Zombie Apocalypse.

It's violent and gory and scary and has tons of body parts. But that's why we love these stories, amiright?

Absolutely worth the credit to get all three books.

Best zombie series ever!

Artinian and Bretton are the best audio combo! You will wish you sounded as cool as Kim! I know I do. (Instead I just have my Louisiana country drawl)
This entire series and world (including the End of Everything series) is just completely bad ass! So are some, but of course not all of the characters! If I had to be in a zombie infested world I’d want to be with these people. They have heart and love for one another. They fight to survive. There’s just so much greatness here! I’ve reviewed each book individually as well and all I can say now is WOW! I hope there are more stories to come because I can’t let some of these characters go. I love them as much as they love each other!
Absolutely a character driven plot where you will dream of and think of them. You will want to be with them. You will also lose an entire day because you will not be able to stop listening.
Do yourself a favor and dive in to the best zombie series ever. The zombies are NOT the main characters here.

Great story!! Did not disappoint!!

If you are on the fence and can't decide if you want this book..... get it!! its fast paced action, good storyline, narrator was great and super character development. I am going to be listening to the rest of the series immediately!

Love it.

Loved it. Starts off strong, end strong. Mike is my favorite. He did what was necessary to save his family. Love it.

Christopher is one of the best story tellers

If you have never listened to any of Christopher's books, this is a great deal to start. Kim is masterful in drawing you into the fray with Mike and Emma and the rest. You feel like you are there fighting the Rams along side them.
