Publisher's summary

Clean romantic comedy by number one best-selling author, Chelsea Hale.

Mandy Jones goes at life alone. At least since her grandma passed away a decade ago. Wishing she could have fulfilled her grandma’s dream to travel more, she runs a successful business being a tour guide and companion for senior citizens who want to see the world. Her world revolves around connecting to her grandma’s generation.

Derek Thompson took over as CEO when his grandfather passed away. Trying desperately to prove himself to the world, he works long hours, dedicated to the legacy his grandfather left behind. When his grandma, Alice, decides to hire a travel companion, Derek just knows she’s being scammed, and joins Alice on a two-week trip to prove he’s right.

Sparks fly when Derek and Mandy meet. The cruise ship is not big enough to hold the annoyance between them. It will take several sea days to realize that both of their lifestyles are more similar than different, as they hide from their past and from their future.

Set sail with this Hallmark-style romantic comedy. The Companion is book three in the Sundaes for Breakfast Romance series.

Enemies to more. Great listen.

This is a story of misunderstandings and insecurities almost getting in the way of something fantastic. Mandy made her living as a traveling companion to older ladies on a cruise. Derek is sure she is out to scam his grandmother that his workaholic habits means he has never made time to travel with. This is a clean stand alone but you get to catch up with friends from earlier books in the series.

I Want to Read it Again and Again

I read and listen to books to escape, and this book takes me away better than any other. I felt as if I was on the cruise and in New York with Mandy and Derek, and their relationship was deeply satisfying. I love all the books in this series, and can't wait for more!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story

“The Companion” by Chelsea Hale
This is Book 3 in the Sundaes for Breakfast romance Series and my first story in this series. I now need to read the other stories. I was gifted the audio copy of this story via Audibles. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time within this clean sweet contemporary romance. I honestly loved the story, and the narration, too. The story moved right along and I never did get antsy while I spent time with this offering. I hope you will like it as much as I did. Happy Reading !!

Perfect weekend listen!

This third book in the Sundaes for Breakfast series is a wonderful addition! I love these books, they are fun and romantic with a little bit of angst. This is the story of Mandy, who goes on vacation with solo travelers as their companion. She boards the cruise ship with Alice only to find out Alice's grandson Derek is coming along too. Derek is sure that Mandy preys on older people and scams them for their money while being their tour guide. He could not be more wrong. These two are at odds from the beginning, a form of foreplay and it could not be more combustible chemistry. Chelsea Hale develops the story so well, including the characters from the first two books, Liz and Coco so we can enjoy our Sundaes for breakfast. It's always fun when previous friendships are included, giving the stories a cohesive, comfortable feeling because we know these people! Derek is a great broody character, I love his protectiveness of his grandmother, but his stubbornness is so frustrating! And Alice is the best character in the book! The effervescent, join in festivities woman, who gives her wisdom to others without them even realizing she is giving advice! This is a great listen and hope that Hale continues the series.

Stacey Glemboski is once again perfect in her portrayal of these characters. She has such great feeling in her narration, and her voice is very soothing. I love her ability to give younger voices and in the same conversation have believable older voices. It is a very enjoyable performance.

Such A Delight!

This is such a sweet fun listen. Take a relaxing vacation with characters you'd love to meet. And places you'd love to go. Chelsea Hale delivers a delightful clean story full of chemistry. Perfectly brought to life by Stacey Glemboski. I received an ARC audiobook copy from Sweet Sounds Audio. The thoughts are my own. It is a real joy and I highly recommend this audiobook! Very well done!

My favorite of the Sundaes for Breakfast Series

This story reminded me a little bit of the TV series The Love Boat since it began on a cruise ship. This is a fun, sweet romance with some angst and miscommunication. It’s a well-written, enjoyable story. Stacey Glemboski did a good job with the narration, and I listened to this in one day. Engaging story!

Another great installment in the series

I have truly enjoyed this series thus far, and The Companion was no exception! As someone who spends a great deal of time socializing with elderly people, I loved the tenderness of Mandy's concern for them. Her relationship with Anna was wonderful and it was nice to see that. As I listened to the story, it occurred to me that it's rare to see books that include inter-generational friendships. Or perhaps I'm reading the wrong books...

Regardless, their arrangement brings Anna's grandson to the rescue to make sure that Mandy isn't after Anna's money. Since Derek is a workaholic, he's not real pleased to be pulled away on this vacation, but he's determined to get to the bottom of things.

Free-spirited Mandy and uptight Derek are at odds at first, but as the feelings grow between them, a beautiful story unfolds.

I did wish that we knew what type of business Derek ran and that we had a better explanation about Derek's family rift. But other than that, the story was a very enjoyable one, and I'm looking forward to reading Book 4 in the series!
