A STRAIGHTFOWARD TALE WITH A GOOD PAYOFF

Slater wrote a pretty interesting story with a nice mix of human complexity and straightforward story telling. She does not lean too heavily on subversiveness or twists but also leaves enough intrigue to keep the listener engaged. The only criticisms would be that many of the characters are not very deep, its hinted at depth but not shown, and she dangles several strings that never really pursued. Narrators Scholey and Aikman do a great job with inflection and tone. Overall this was an enjoyable listen.

It was a stunning story.

I have listened to alot of audiobooks, this one was the best that I have ever heard!!

Great story and performance! K L Slater is my new favorite author. This is the fifth book I’ve read / listened to, all have been great! This one will keep you on your toes! Loved it!

Had high hopes for this one.

Just held my breath the entire time waiting for a twist or turn, but this damn thing never went as straight as an arrow. I could have guessed the ending after chapter three. Disappointing.
