I love this story so much. And the furst narrator is engaging! The second narrator has a sweet voice but I much prefer the first. my big problem with the audiobook is that none of the chapters are labeled, book is broken into six parts for download purposes but not labeled. It's very difficult to tell which book I'm on, and Which chapter I'm in in that book. Twice, in the audiobook, the story shifts of abruptly and I I've tried to see if the book was changing or what caused the change. I've tried to rewind and relisten to make sure I didn't miss something. it would have been much easier had there been any indication of where in the story I was

Great story, good narrator, audiobook format is c

This set is missing "Anne of Windy Poplars" and "Anne of Ingleside". The narrator of the first few books is TERRIBLE, painful to listen to. I would rather have bought the books separately with a decent narrator.

Missing two of the "Anne" books

The classic content is as delightful as usual, but the voicing by Tara Ward is bad enough to be distracting. Anne comes across as whiny and cartoonish. Marilla, the adult women and all the male characters share a monotonous, uniform growl. And, why on Earth does Davy have an American western accent? Audible breathing and swallowing sprinkled liberally throughout make this rendition unlistenable. I’m disappointed enough to stop halfway through and look for a different version.

Not a good listen

The books are great. All of the readers do a nice job but the changes between takes some getting used to every time.

Wonderful Books

You can't go wrong with this set. Anne of Green Gables was written in a much simpler time and so can bring you back. This is also very appropriate for young preteen girls though at 62 years of age I still enjoyed it very much.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my top two favorite books. This recording allowed me to enjoy them again. Please note it skips over anne of Windy Poplars and Anne of Ingleside.

Note: its only 6 books, vs the full 8

I didn’t love the narrator of the first book, but she is much better than the other. Sorry Tara Ward, but you make Anne sound like a prissy girl instead of someone who is a confident smart young lady (which is what she is!).

This is a great book and I enjoy it but,is weird that it is "broken in to parts"

Great book!but broken into parts.

I am in love again with L M Montgomery. Her descriptions are poetic word pictures. The wonderful writing, though, is marred by poor performances by the narrators. The first makes an obnoxious rendering of Anne - so you wish you could slap her. The Narrator of the other books needs to learn how to pronounce many words. She mangles ordinary words like “poesy” (rendered “posey,”), “beatitudes” (BEAUTitudes.), the name “August” like the adjective auGUST, and the adjective like the name or month. Dahlias is spoken with a long “a” instead of a short. The singular “beau,” is spoken the same as the plural, “beaux.” She drove me crazy.

These books deserve better narrators

Great value but book one is by far the best. Later books are about Anne’s kids and neighbors.
