Enjoyed it!

Love the second book to the series. I love the narration by Angela Dawe. I first heard her narration of The Reef by Nora Roberts and was happy that she chose her yet again!

Good book

I enjoyed the the continuing story of the McGregors. However, it was detrimental to the enjoyment listening to the actor sounding like a cartoon character when reading the part of Caine. I will think twice before purchasing a book with Angela Dawe.

The performance was fine except for the tone of the characters voice, they are just not good voices for the characters. More like voices of villains who are trying to be sexy. Just didn’t like the voices used.

MacGregors 2, world of women 0

Well, a background-noise sort of book this is. You can listen to it while doing other things and not really miss anything. I like Nora Roberts best in stand-alone books, I realize that now. With an introduction to some of the characters, the background set-up in a previous book, this book was too predictable for me.
It did serve the purpose of having something to listen to that was easy romance and did not include zombies or slashers or intrigue, if that helps.

Enjoyment

I enjoyed this book it was a great follow through of the first book. can't wait to read the rest of the series!!

Performance impeded enjoyment

Narrator was annoyingly melodramatic with entire performance. Made it difficult to stick with the story.

MacGregors at their best.

Great story line. Fun reading. MacGregor clan thinking fate is with them, when it is really daddy.

Repetitive vocab and irritating narrator

This story is pretty interesting, but completely overshadowed by uncreative vocabulary and the narrator's harsh voice. I won't buy another audiobook with Angela Dawes as narrator after having suffered through two of them in a row.
As for the story, I wish Nora Roberts could find a synonym for " need". Need and greed get a workout in this book, and it becomes almost comical --like the date that brings flowers every single time. Too much repetition, not enough subtle artistry with the romantic scenes. Maybe Nora is bored with herself, but she missed the mark with this series.

Roberts Still Learning

Early 1960's romance shows glimmers of the skilled author Roberts will become. Better than the cost book in the series.. If new to her writing try "The Witness" or "Whiskey Beach. "
