Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nora Roberts enchants again with this beloved classic about the passionate and headstrong MacGregor family.

Attorney Caine MacGregor had a reputation for being a demon in and out of the courtroom. The dashing young attorney rarely met a case - or a woman - he couldn't win. But Diana Blade was no ordinary lady. Caine yearned to break down her icy wall of control and release the passionate woman within. He might be able to convince Diana to form a business partnership, but could he entice her to risk everything for the love of a MacGregor?

Did not hold my interest

The narration was poor. The male voices was not done well. I will not read the other sequel if done by same narrator.

Caine and Diana

What did you love best about Tempting Fate?

The ongoing characters in the family MacGregor

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tempting Fate?

Being snowed in and stuck in a hotel that typically rents rooms by the hour

Did Angela Dawe do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes. She lowered her voice for the male characters, added a brogue for Daniel. She softened her voice for Anna and raised it for Rena.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. Nice simple romance.

Any additional comments?

This series holds up 30 yrs after first publication. The characters smoking cigarettes dates the series but other than that it could be written today.

Another Good Read

This was a good romance, light, and easy to read. The Macgregors are always interesting. Not too crazy about the lady who read the book. She was easy to understand but there is a certain cadence to her voice that sounds somewhat arrogant.Could be the section of the country she is from and the "accent". It didn't keep me from listening to the book.

MacGregors 2, world of women 0

Well, a background-noise sort of book this is. You can listen to it while doing other things and not really miss anything. I like Nora Roberts best in stand-alone books, I realize that now. With an introduction to some of the characters, the background set-up in a previous book, this book was too predictable for me.
It did serve the purpose of having something to listen to that was easy romance and did not include zombies or slashers or intrigue, if that helps.

Roberts Still Learning

Early 1960's romance shows glimmers of the skilled author Roberts will become. Better than the cost book in the series.. If new to her writing try "The Witness" or "Whiskey Beach. "

Not what I was looking for.

Thought it was a mystery HUGE disappointment ! I was looking forward to a good mystery not a romance novel. It was so very predictable I had trouble getting to the end.

Love the story

Can’t wait for the next one about the senator. Following this family is fun and I hope the next story comes quickly.

Plot is More Far-Fetched Than Usual

I like romance novels, but this one was so cheesy that I had to write a review. Spoiler alert. From beginning to end, the story was disjointed. The beginning made me feel like I was missing something,, it was so predictable and these strangers immediately fall for one another?! Within 2 weeks book time and 5 minutes real time, the woman completely came to grips with her past, her twisted up feelings and proposes to him?! Again, what?! I guess I’m happy it wasn’t dragged out longer. I don’t even think this is worth a frivolous read.

Horrible Narrator — Returned…

I have never returned an Audible book until now. I LOVE Nora Roberts books! HOWEVER, I could not get past the first chapter due to the narrator. It sounded like a computer reading the story. This narrator is a huge misstep to this story which I am intrigued to read. Buy the book. Skip this one on Audible. I usually love Audible and have hundreds of Audible books—not this one!!!
