Publisher's Summary

When forced to choose between safety with the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill chose to stand with Riley and his band of rogue dragons rather than become an assassin for Talon. She's lost any contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former-enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side. As Ember and Riley hide and regroup to fight another day, Garret journeys alone to the United Kingdom, birthplace of the ancient and secret Order of St. George, to spy on his former brothers and uncover deadly and shocking secrets that will shake the foundations of dragons and dragon-slayers alike, placing them all in imminent danger as Talon's new order rises.

Better than Book 2

Still a bit simple for me- but I still like this world, so I’ll keep reading them. Still hate Ember. I like just about every other character though.

It was okay.

Plot was alright. The voice for Ember came off whinny at times. I look forward to the next book though.

Way to much teenage angst

I've listen to all three books in the series and I wish I had bothered to write a review on book two. I did love the first in the series but as I made my way through book three, I began to remember how Ember's whining just about drove me up a wall. OK so she's a teenager and that's what teenage girls can be like but it was just about enough for me and I won't be bothered with the next in the series. So I just looked back to see who this book was for and it was for teens - 11 to 13. OK my bad, I should have paid more attention

Now we're talkin'

Initially I felt that the Talon series was more of a young adult series. Let me assure everyone that it's a good listen for anyone!

You should enjoy it if you liked the first two

I liked this about as much as the first two in the series. I rank it somewhere between "okay" and "good". An entertaining diversion. There are some good revelations in this one, some nice action and character interaction. Characters didn't do the smartest thing sometimes. The climax (and the heroes' plan involving it) was a little too dumb and forced. Story ends on a cliffhanger.

As for the narration, I like the three guys, but the female narrator is not very good. I don't like her in her own right, and she doesn't mesh well (IMO) with the guys.
