Publisher's Summary

From best-selling author duo Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff comes the exciting finale in the trilogy that broke the mold and has been called "stylistically mesmerizing" and "out-of-this-world-awesome".

Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza - but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys - an old flame from Asha's past - reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.

Meant to be an Audio Book

This wrap up to the series was perfect. I couldn't sit through an audiobook before I got to this series. I could not have thought of a better way to wrap up a series. my only very small little problem with this book is the main character bubble makes it a little hard to get worried something might happen to the main characters in the book.

Live a life worth dying for

The performance this cast gave was amazing. I only wish the individual characters had more opportunity to speak because all of them have such amazing performances, but then that would deprive me of the ever wonderful analyst 7213 0089 (whose true identity is finally revealed!), which would also be a tragedy. This book reminds us that everyone involved is there against their will. The survivors heading towards Kerenza never asked to be attacked, the survivors on Kerenza never asked to be occupied by an invading force, and even the invaders never signed up to occupy a hostile planet for 7 months. There are some great villains you love to hate, only to be reminded of their humanity at the least opportune moment. There is also just as much tragedy in this final installment as in the previous ones. This was a highly satisfying ending to a great series.

Fantastic

I stumbled onto this book series and was not able to stop. Any time I was in my car, or working I was listening.

The story was amazing.

Love,

Absolutely adore this trilogy!

The Illuminae Files will go down as one of my favorite series ever! I adore the characters and the story. I feel like the audiobook only enhances the experience, and it is a story I know I will find myself revisiting in the future.

Amazing Conclusion

This was a thrilling and amazing conclusion to the Illuminae trilogy. It was great to "see" all the surviving cast from the first two books and how in the end all of the stories intertwined and grew throughout this finale. The full cast audio is the only way to listen to this story. Definitely my all-time favorite trilogy of all time.

Great last book

This was a fantastic finish to a great trilogy. Looking at the print books, you might think there's no way that they could successfully translate to audiobook. The full cast narration and great effects really pull it off though. I still recommend giving both versions a try as they are very different but equally amazing experiences. As for Obsidio in particular, I thought it was a good finish to a really strong series. Pretty much everything you've come to expect from these books plus the grand finale thrown in. I would love to see more from these two authors.

Indescribable perfection

This series was unlike anything I’ve ever read. I’ve read hundreds of books and never have I read something so flawlessly and masterfully written. I was addicted from the first to the literal last page of the book. A pure literary phenomenon.

This series was amazing!

I loved almost everything in this series. The recording was excellent and so was the voice acting. There were many twists and turns. It was full of surprises. It made me laugh and made me cry, even feel mad at times. There was lots of swearing that was artfully bleeped out but I found it strange that the words God and Jesus Christ were not considered swearing and thus blasted through my speakers offending my soul. If not for that I would have felt this were one of the best sci fi stories I have ever listened to.

What a jammed packed ending

What an emotional and jammed packed ending. Aside from a few things this was a great ending to a powerful and unique story!
