Publisher's summary

To set him free from an ancient curse, she must travel to a time of myth and legend...

Regan MacCarthy's ability to see ghosts is a gift inherited from her Irish ancestors, but it's one she'd dearly like to give back. In an attempt to return her powers to their source, she travels to Ireland to harness the ancient magic that still permeates the mystical site of Newgrange. Instead, something far more unexpected awaits her: a strapping, gorgeous stranger who insists he's a centuries-old Celtic warrior.

Fáelán was one of Fionn MacCumhaill's elite soldiers before being cursed by a resentful fae princess. The only way to free himself is to fall so deeply in love that he'd sacrifice his life. Not an easy matter when he's invisible to most. Yet Regan sees him - not just the proud, handsome warrior on the surface, but the complex man beneath. Only when it's too late does Fáelán realize that drawing this beautiful mortal into his world has endangered them both, and may destroy the happiness he's waited an eternity to claim...

No way can I listen to this terrible narrator..

I bought this about an hour ago and decided to listen to it today but there's no way I can listen to a whole book with the hero sounding like a girl. This is 2017! Time for female narrators to listen to other great female narrators and learn a thing or two. Like a man is NOT supposed to sound like a girl in a romance novel.

K.C.Sheridan must have gotten several of her friends to buy this book then tell you how great this narrator was, when she's not.

I was looking forward to this story but, alas, you got a bad narrator, Ms. Longley. I can barely stand it when a male narrator doesn't raise his voice quite enough to sound female but I can't listen to a book where the hero sounds exactly like the heroine.

If you want to hear the hero say something you have to listen to the last line of the sample when the hero says, "what is the daft lassie doin' then?" I listened to about ten minutes more then gave up.

I gave the author 3 stars on overall and story because it wouldn't let me just rate the narration. Which is ridiculous.

Awful narrator; couldn't finish the book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not this audiobook version. I don't know how good the story is because I couldn't get past the narrator's weird pauses. She sounds like she was taught to read by William Shatner. The breaks in sentences in places where there wouldn't even be a comma made it difficult to listen to. I found myself so distracted and sometimes had to stop to think about the sentence she said because the breaks were just all wrong. I will NEVER buy another book this person narrated.

If you’ve listened to books by Barbara Longley before, how does this one compare?

I haven't and I gave this one 3 stars because that is average and I don't know if the story is good or bad because I couldn't continue listening.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of K.C. Sheridan?

I don't know the narrators by name. Sheridan did a good job with the accents, but she needs basic reading lessons. Read it like you would speak it. It needs to flow, not have each sentence broken up into many sentence fragments. So frustrating!

Any additional comments?

I don't understand how a book can end up with such a bad reading. Surely Audible listens to the narrations before publication. Please, someone who chooses the narrator, go back and listen to how she breaks up these sentences.

Faery nice story

This book, was like a 1500 piece puzzle that you buy because it looks like a challenge, but ends up being too easy and not as vibrant as you hoped. I have no true complaints. Characters were well developed, historical facts were great, and over all the story was good. I just feel like all the pieces added up to something "less". My reaction may be more to do with my jaded heart, and less to do with the book so take my luke warm feelings with a grain of salt. I will be reading more from this Author⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good story bad Voice

The story and characters were well written and I particularly enjoyed the Quantum physics woven into the story. There is no time in Spirit and since Spirit is ALL time travel is merely a point of perspective without the concept of time which keeps us locked in This dimension. The voice I found to be monotonous in cadence especially concerning the supposedly Tennessee accents. They had none of the sweet honey tones that southerners are known for and the cadence of speech lacked timing and emotion. It was like dry pancakes without syrup. This one is better read.

Besides a great love story, this was a fascinating take involving time and travel. Awesome!

Beautifully Written

Loved this book. I would recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys time travel or Keltic stories. It grabs the reader, listener, and brings them along for a wonderful ride of the images and feelings of the subject's in the story.

There are very frequent edit breaks

You are settling in to listen and within a few minutes, you hear an edit break which makes for disturbed listening. Sometimes the first word after the edit break is clipped stopping the flow. This happens throughout the performance. I found this very annoying and a sign of an amateur editor. The story was marginal and predictable.

Sweet and entertaining story

I can see this book turning into a fictional romance movie. The imaginary world and Irish miths were refreshing. However, I got tired of the singsong voice tone of the reader. Not my favorite.
