Publisher's summary

A social experiment (a scary but exciting concept): marry a total stranger, live together for six months, and journal everything.

Feelings. Fights. All of it.

After six months, we each get $50,000 in exchange for our journals, whether we stay married or not. But the goal is to commit to the experience and see if the relationship experts could put together the perfect matches.

I have never been lucky in love. This was my chance to find my soulmate. I couldn't wait to meet the man the experts felt was perfect for me. My hopes were immediately dashed when I saw him at the altar. I married my worst nightmare. Right?

Not As Intense As The Others In The Series....

….but still an AWESOME story!

All I can do is ditto all the other positive reviews. I liked Talon because he was a happy confident person who wasn't broken or scared which was a refreshing change. I loved his teasing personality. The only negative for me was, this story's plot wasn't as captivating or as intense as Storm's, Vandal's or Lukas's story but was still well worth the time and credit. Can't want to see what Carian Cole brings to audio next! ….

I LOVE this series!!!! PLEASE TELL ME ITS NOT OVER?? I need more... I need Asher's story!

This book was a mix of everything! It was emotional, funny, sexy, painful and so beautiful! I honestly thought it was going to be a little cheesy because of the way these two meet but it was anything but! Talon plays the "cockstar" but deep down that man is beyond adorable! I swear there were 2 different Talon's in this book because he changed so much! Asia is just a girl looking for someone to love her. She has ambition and expectations but does she really know what she needs...Nope! These two were like water and a rock... they banged heads until they finally broken each other down. I honesty can't say enough about how much I loved this series. This is my first book series by this author but it won't be my last. I will be stalking all of her pages waiting and dying for the next book. Storm was sweet and sexy, Vandal was sad and dark, Lukas was so honest and light and then Talon was a mix of all of those things. If you haven't read these yet, I highly recommend them!!! Thank you audible for the recommendations on my home page because I had never heard of these books before that.

This book had another narration change. Normally I hate narration changes but these books were all different POV so was ok to change it up.

TIRED OF BEING USED FOR SEX

Talon: Wealthy, manwhore and guitarist for Ashes and Embers
Asia: Ghetto poor, artistic and shy

Talon is in a life rut and has a discussion with his mother about where he is in his life. His mom tells him about a study she's been asked to participate with and write about. Marry a complete stranger sight unseen and stay married for 6 months. The couples are paired by questionaires they answered.

When they see each other for the first time their not happy. Their only looking at the visual features they wanted in a spouse but Talon is determined to make it work. Talon of course is very sexual and knows sex is a needed to make a relationship work. But Asia had been in a long term relationship and was hurt so she wants to be in love before having sex.

Asia has a conference with their therapist who explains to Asia the importance of intimacy in a marriage. Once Asia gives in their marriage starts to flourish.

I adore Talon for his determination and patience and enjoyed his chapters . IMO Asia was very whiny and I would fast forward thru a lot of her chapters. I didn't want to hear her whiny ass internal dialogue reiterating what just happened in the previous chapter. It's so irritating. This is why I gave the Story and Overall 4 Stars.

The whole band has parts in the book and are very supportive of Talon and Asia.

Sean Crisden and Elizabeth Hart gave a great performance.

Absolutely worth the credit or $$.

Unusual, upbeat rock romance!

I read the series and am now making my way through the audible performances. I really enjoyed this unusual aspect of this story. The H/h marry without knowing each other. Their relationship takes a journey that is sometimes humorous, angst ridden and ultimately has you cheering for their happily ever after. Talon is a flawed, but caring husband Asia (I spelled it wrong I know) is dying to be loved but has trust issues. Their journey to love is a fun listen and I think most people would enjoy this light hearted banter!

OMG how did I overlook this talented author?

Talon is my favorite book of the year!
This book was an emotional rollercoaster I couldn't stop riding.
I laughed out loud at the mismatched couples begining..
I sighed at the tender sweet moments Kenzie and Talon had while discovering why they should be together.
I cried at the tragedy that would change their relationship forever.
I shook my head at the confusion of a misunderstanding that would rip them apart.
and smiled at the warm tender way this couple would come back together again.
The narrator's did a phenomenal job of conveying the various layers of emotions these characters felt.
So is this book worth a credit??
Ohh God yes!
I would have gladly gave 3 credits for it.
I will definitely listen to this one again.

OPPOSITES DO ATTRACT & THE DELICIOUS PROOF IS HERE

Every time I listen to one of these fantastic books in the A & E series I think "this is the best one"... and then Carian Cole releases another and, again, I end up saying the same thing to myself. But this time she surpassed herself (and my high expectations) by giving her fans the final memorable book in the series.... Asia and Talon's love story.

Talon is a long haired Rocker, he's a tattooed, sexy manwhore whose 11" manhood has every Groupie panting for him - but Talon has become disillusioned, dissatisfied and empty with the 'same shit different day' scene that his life is and longs for a change. That change comes when he signs up for a Social Experiment in matching couples together and the first time they get to see their mysterious partner is at the alter and the first words they say to each other are the marriage vows. Talon is eager and excited to meet the tall, sexy, curvaceous, bubbly busty blonde that he requested - but that soon morphs into shock as he sees his small, brown haired, mousy, nervous and intimidated bride walking slowly and shakily towards him.

Asia had been through Hell in her life, everyone always ended up leaving her but she is a survivor and has worked hard for everything she got. Her supportive best friend had convinced her that this Experiment would change her life... and she wasn't wrong - but not in the ways they'd hoped. Because she'd just married a total stranger, a long haired tattooed sex starved giant and that was so not what she'd been hoping for. They both realized it was a terrible mistake and it was never going to work out but agreed to give their marriage the expected 6 months to see if the 'Experts' may just somehow of got the pairing right.

And what followed was a slow and tender voyage of discovery, the shattering of pre-conceived expectations of what they both thought they wanted in, and from, a partner and the experience of falling in love. Unfortunately this journey took them on very choppy waters at times too but together they sailed through them with understanding, great banter, tenderness, humor, fun and friendship... as well as a marriage consummation that was a long time in err coming! But, it wasn't all plain sailing - like so many love stories before this, Asia and Talon's love was going to be tested in the most heartbreaking of ways.

Worth a credit? I get sooo frustrated when a book from a much loved series slips through undetected by me as this one did - however the excitement and anticipation soon drowns that feeling out and straight away I was hooked by two loveable characters who were thrown together, tried to make the best of it, eventually succeeded and reaped the rewards of a very HEA ending. This listen was also filled with good supportive secondary characters and a very sweet adorable cat. I was not only entertained by this well narrated dual POV listen... I was mesmerized too.... so creditworthy - Hell YEAH.

More than 5 stars and the moon!!

Talon is a standalone story in the Ashes & Embers series.

"Then don't be a star, Talon. Be the moon. Shine above all of them."

I listened to the audiobook of Talon for a re-read. I already loved the book, but the story really took on a new life, a whole other dimension through some amazing narration.
Talon is a member of the rock band Ashes & Embers. He is beginning to feel like his life is too shallow and he longs to find his soulmate.
Asia has been unlucky in relationships and has begun to feel like maybe she just isn't enough.
They both sign up for a social experiment that attempts to make the perfect match. Marry a stranger that is chosen for you and stay together for 6 months.

"Marrying you doesn't change who I am."
"No, but it changes who we are together," I grab her hand to stop her fingers from nervously circling on her leg. "Together, we're supposed to be better."

This story is beautiful, both heart wrenching and life affirming as it deals with some tough issues. The book is sexy with a swoon worthy rock star Hero and an amazing sweet heroine. It is an emotional story that brought me to tears, but also made me laugh.

"I love you too, jelly bean. With every one of my f'n' heartbeats."

Carian Cole has fast become a favorite one-click author and Sean Crisden & Elizabeth Hart are now among my favorite narrators!

Just okay.

The performance was fine, nothing really wrong with it. Just not sure that a story this simple needed two voices. But the story was very predictable with the main characters reacting to everything like they were in soap opera. Overall not the worst book but definitely something that I wish I hadn't used a precious credit on.
