Publisher's Summary

A social experiment (a scary but exciting concept): marry a total stranger, live together for six months, and journal everything.

Feelings. Fights. All of it.

After six months, we each get $50,000 in exchange for our journals, whether we stay married or not. But the goal is to commit to the experience and see if the relationship experts could put together the perfect matches.

I have never been lucky in love. This was my chance to find my soulmate. I couldn't wait to meet the man the experts felt was perfect for me. My hopes were immediately dashed when I saw him at the altar. I married my worst nightmare. Right?

Not As Intense As The Others In The Series....

….but still an AWESOME story!

All I can do is ditto all the other positive reviews. I liked Talon because he was a happy confident person who wasn't broken or scared which was a refreshing change. I loved his teasing personality. The only negative for me was, this story's plot wasn't as captivating or as intense as Storm's, Vandal's or Lukas's story but was still well worth the time and credit. Can't want to see what Carian Cole brings to audio next! ….

More than 5 stars and the moon!!

Talon is a standalone story in the Ashes & Embers series.

"Then don't be a star, Talon. Be the moon. Shine above all of them."

I listened to the audiobook of Talon for a re-read. I already loved the book, but the story really took on a new life, a whole other dimension through some amazing narration.
Talon is a member of the rock band Ashes & Embers. He is beginning to feel like his life is too shallow and he longs to find his soulmate.
Asia has been unlucky in relationships and has begun to feel like maybe she just isn't enough.
They both sign up for a social experiment that attempts to make the perfect match. Marry a stranger that is chosen for you and stay together for 6 months.

"Marrying you doesn't change who I am."
"No, but it changes who we are together," I grab her hand to stop her fingers from nervously circling on her leg. "Together, we're supposed to be better."

This story is beautiful, both heart wrenching and life affirming as it deals with some tough issues. The book is sexy with a swoon worthy rock star Hero and an amazing sweet heroine. It is an emotional story that brought me to tears, but also made me laugh.

"I love you too, jelly bean. With every one of my f'n' heartbeats."

Carian Cole has fast become a favorite one-click author and Sean Crisden & Elizabeth Hart are now among my favorite narrators!

Wow!

This was genuinely a well written story that translated perfectly into audio format. It showed heart it showed passion it showed comedy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters personalities truly shined through and it developed so well throughout the story. This is been a really good story to listen to I listen to this one first instead of listening in the reading order. But now I'm hooked and just purchased the book one

Unusual, upbeat rock romance!

I read the series and am now making my way through the audible performances. I really enjoyed this unusual aspect of this story. The H/h marry without knowing each other. Their relationship takes a journey that is sometimes humorous, angst ridden and ultimately has you cheering for their happily ever after. Talon is a flawed, but caring husband Asia (I spelled it wrong I know) is dying to be loved but has trust issues. Their journey to love is a fun listen and I think most people would enjoy this light hearted banter!

Sean and Elizabeth are the complete audible pkg!

What made the experience of listening to Talon the most enjoyable?

Sean and Elizabeth brought Talon and Asia to life like no other audible story I've listened to. They each put so much emotion and personalities into the characters, making me wish the story would never end. I can't thank them enough for this story and, of course, the gift of the story from Carian.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It would be so difficult to pick my favorite character. Sean gave Talon life with his snarky, sarcastic and vulnerable performance, and Elizabeth gave Asia such a real honest sweetness and brought to life the inner strength she wasn't aware of. Each made you love both characters and put you on the emotional roller coaster that Carian had intended.

What about Sean Crisden and Elizabeth Hart ’s performance did you like?

Sean has the complete package with his voice and delivery. Elizabeth's voice was just the perfect fit for Asia. Both brought Talon and Asia to life. There couldn't be any others who could out perform this delivery.

Excellent as usual!

I love all of Carian Cole's books but this one was the first to make me cry. I really enjoyed this story. There was no insta love but two people getting to know each other and slowly falling in love.

My Favorite Book of the Series

Although I loved every book in the series, Talon is my favorite by far. I loved the connection between the two main characters. The narration was perfect as well.

My favorite of the series

It's official, Talon is my favorite Valentine. This book...what can I say? From the very start, I knew I would love it. The premise of married at first sight is just enough to pique my interest and keep it there. I really found it interesting that Talon would agree to such a thing with all of the women that Ashes and Embers has throwing themselves at them. Meeting Asia, who clearly was the complete opposite(or was she?) and getting to know her throughout this book, understanding what brought her to do this social experiment and her ability to beat her own demons is uplifting and just keeps you wanting more. Talon, the ultimate rock God...shirtless on stage and tattooed everywhere reveals his compassion, his ability to love, and his ability to shine on his own rising above his own challenges. I also love that we get to see the others that we have met in the previous books, giving you that feeling of knowing the family, like you are there with them. This books is complete magic. Carian Cole has a winner with this book, I cannot wait to see what she has in store for these two in the future.

This book was narrated by Sean Crisden and Elizabeth Hart. This team is incredible and brings the emotions and feels to the story, sucking you right in. You could not have a better performance.

Wonderfully written

I absolutely loved this book, it was my first Corian Cole book and I’m glad I’m bought it. I loved every chapter, I listen within 2 days I just couldn’t stop. Wonderfully written, perfect love story. It’s also made me buy the other books in the Ashes and Embres series.

Listening to this book the second time is so much better,I've found myself smiling at parts like it's being said to me. Picturing who my Talon would be makes the story just that bit more interesting

LOVEDDDD!!!

6+++ Jellybean Stars!!! OMGGGGGGGG! EPIC BOOK HANGOVER!!!!! I didn’t want this book to end!!!!!! This is hands down my FAVOURITE of the A&E series!! I am absolutely in LOOOVEEE with Talon and Asia! They were so PERFECT together, despite their initial differences on the surface. I loved the unique situation that they were thrown into, and it was so refreshing to watch their relationship unfold through the good and bad times. This was certainly not an insta love romance!!! The road for Talon and Asia is not an easy one. Asia is constantly trying to deal with her abandonment issues as well as dealing with the jealousy that comes with having a hot rockstar for a husband! And Talon has his own issues to deal with as well which is revealed later in the book! The chemistry between Talon and Asia is insanely HOTTT!! I melted into a puddle whenever Talon said “baby”!! Swoooonnnnnn!!!

Carian Cole is an amazingly talented writer - she has an inate ability to create unforgettable stories and characters that touch your heart and soul. This story delivered big time on the FEELS!! My heart literally ached towards the last few chapters of the book! I had to rub at the ache in my chest as I rallied for their HEA! And the banter between Talon and Asia had me LOL’ing many times!! I loved seeing the return of all the A&E band members and their partners! Also there are crossovers from the Devil’s Wolves characters!! I may have fangirlled liked crazy when Toren and Kenzie made a cameo!!

Sean Crisden and Elizabeth Hart were the perfect choice for this audiobook! They really gave these characters so much life!!

Hot steamy story of unexpected love

I liked this book a lot
It was not just a book of sexual tension the story that went along with it was quite good.
I cried while reading a touching story
