About the Creator
Jill Bengtsson was a stay-at-home mom for 21 years before writing her debut novel, Cake: A Love Story, which was released in 2016. She had written the book for fun after she’d read a disappointing romance novel and felt she could do better. Jill released Cake on Amazon and watched in stunned disbelief when it became a best-seller within a month…before she even told her husband and children she’d written a book. Building on her success, the Cake audiobook was nominated for an Audie Award for Best Romance in 2018 and ensured that listeners devoured other titles in the Cake series. Jill is now a full-time writer.

Lesson Learned: Never Judge a Book by Its Title
There is one reason you should get this book. Other than it being laugh out loud funny. They fall in love and stay together. There’s no dramatic love me, no leave me alone. They have conversations like real live humans. Sometimes their arguments are instantly resolved. Sometimes they walk around acting like the issue doesn’t exist until they are ready for it to… like real live humans. I kept waiting for the big you can’t love me I’m damaged argument, but it never came. When I got to the end I instantly replayed it. So that I could enjoy it without all of that unrealized dread filled anticipation.

This was a book club listen for me, so I didn't know what to expect...Well let me tell you, I was hooked at ch 3..and did not want to put this book down!
Casey meets Jake the Rock Star at her friends wedding...they were matched in the wedding party...Well Casey did not know what to expect from him, and was a little nervous...he was running late and upon meeting things were awkward, so Casey pulls a prank on him and they immediately become friends...they both feel a spark...Jake is nothing like Casey expected...he is down to earth and quite sweet...Casey knows Jake has been through a severe trauma in his young life, and it haunts him, making it very hard for others to get close to him..But she takes it slow..he invites her on tour in London for the weekend and they fall madly in love...he invites her to stay..and that is how they became CAKE!
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STORY...THIS WRITERS PREMIERE BOOK IS A SLAM DUNK HIT BABY!! I CANT WAIT FOR MORE FROM HER...GIMMME GIMMME GIMMME!!

This is the first book I have read by the author. The story is so appealing. I quickly became "involved" with the characters in the book, especially Jake. The narrators were wonderful. I will definitely continue listening to the remainder of the series.

I totally loved this story from beginning to end. I can't wait to listen to the next two books.

Broken Man Meets Girl Who Can Handle Him!
What did you love best about Cake?
Who doesn't love a story about a guy no woman can seem to make a connection with and then he finally meets the one that changes everything! This book had just enough mystery, just enough "passion" and kept me interested throughout!
What about Andi Arndt and Joe Arden ’s performance did you like?
Loved the performance by the readers. They were interesting to listen to and just liked the overall sound of their voices.

Dreamy
This turned out to be a great book! Love the story line and how it was about them and the true life of people. Wasn’t to far off from the everyday life of you and me.
