Publisher's Summary

In more than 17 years of investigative reporting for magazines and newspapers, Anthony Pignataro has written numerous essays about life in the underbellies of seemingly upscale communities: Orange County and Sacramento in California, and on the tropical island paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where he made his home since 2003 and was editor of the alternative weekly newspaper MauiTime.

Pignataro’s steamy Charley Ridgway novels of hard-boiled action and noir intrigue, Small Island, The Dead Season, and Pau Hana Time, have made their mark with lovers of dark adventures.

Boasting a foreword by best-selling author Nicholas Schou, Stealing Cars With the Pros collects 33 true stories that helped inspire Pignataro's suspenseful Ridgway trilogy.

Short stories excellently narrated

This compilation of well-narrated short stories provides for easy listening. Some of the stories are dark, some are sad, some are laugh out loud funny and all are thought provoking. The writer has a keen eye for detail and finding interest in the mundane. I could listen to the narrator all day.
