Publisher's summary

Eighteen months after suddenly losing the love of my life, I’m coming out of the fog of early grief and taking a hard look at the rest of my life. With three young children to care for on my own while also managing their grief, I haven’t had a lot of time to ponder what’s next for me. When I think about what I really want, I keep coming back to one thing. Or I should say one person—someone who understands what I’ve been through because he’s been there too, only his losses were far worse than mine. I find myself thinking about him all the time, but is he ready for the things I want? I have no idea, but I’m determined to find out.

Excellent story but

The woman who read Iris I enjoyed. She was wonderful in all the voices. The man who narrated Gage, not so much. Breathy, too soft and stilted.
The story was riveting! Marie never disappoints.

Emotional, sad, sweet, and very slow

Not sure how many of these I will read. I liked Ronni and Derrick because they tied to the Fatal series. This one started fine and built the other characters in the book. Iris is amazing and certainly deserved a second chance at love with all she endured. Gabe also deserved her given his tragedy but his repeated reticence was annoying. The book dragged for much of the middle and the audio was 2 hours to long since several aspects of the plot were depressing. Yes real life but also it seemed lots of bad luck and heartbreak 💔 and some weird twists of fate. Maybe the brother in law Rob will become involved with one of the other members or the new “friend”. Also kept waiting for Sam’s sister to show up toward the end but never did. The tea party was a nice crossover scene though! Looking forward to hearing more about this pair now that they’ve gotten through so much but not sure how many more stories I want to spend time reading when they center so much around grief and fighting off depression. The friendship bonds, dealing with challenges of single parenting and the romance are the best parts but we’re overwhelmed at times by sad news.
The narration was also not up to snuff. Addison Barnes did a pretty decent job but I thought the SAGAFRA performer, Justin Price sounded disjointed and hesitant. There were too many pauses and mumbles. Would only recommend this as a sale book. It was ok and would have been better if it had been edited more diligently, but not worth a credit!

Gagging

I honestly do not know what was worse the story or the narration. Seriously this was so bad I may never read or listen to another book of this author and have read quite a few. I ended this book thinking widows and widowers are the worst crybaby self absorbed gag-tastic excuse of humans on earth. Going to social media and unfollowing the author now. I want those hours back from my life.

Emotional and heart warming

After the emotional read of the first book in the series I was looking forward to reading Someone To Hold and it did not disappoint in any way. From the moment I started this book I knew I was in for a long night.

This was an emotional roller coaster of a read and one I couldn’t put down once I started. This is Iris, founder of the Wild Widows Club and Gage’s story and their journey was a rocky one, full of ups and downs.

My emotions were all over the place whilst reading; there were times that I laughed and times that I was moved to tears. My heart went out to both Iris and Gage for everything they have been through, it just about broke my heart. I admired the strength and resilience of Iris and Gage, both have hearts of gold and are there for one another until Gage falters.

The friendships, love and support of the other members of the Wild Widows Club added an additional layer to the story. As with the previous book, this story covers loss, grief and heartache and Marie Force handled it with integrity, not shying away from the harsh realities of life. Someone To Hold is a story of finding love, of hope and taking chances; it was realistic, emotional and extremely well written.

The narration by Addison Barnes and Justin Price who are both new to me did justice to this story and brought the characters to life for me.

Second Chance Romance—Messiness of Life Included

Really enjoying this new Marie Force series where she is keeping it REAL by weaving in the very very messy parts of everyday life which are on center stage as the characters navigate their second-chance romances.

Fabulous book

Wow what an amazing and emotionally beautiful story. This book had all the feels. Joy, sadness, despair and love. I love all the different characters and the tie in to our favourite first couple too. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this story was compelling to read. The twists and turns I didn’t see coming but I should know from reading all MsForce’s books to expect the unexpected from her. Truly wonderful. I can’t believe it was left like that tho. I guess we should expect the unexpected tho lol. Great narration too.
