It mad me mad

The narrator was just fine. The story ticked me off because the female lead was so weak. Hurt happened due to waffling. Turned out fine in the end but after the initial stress didn’t want to go through that. Appreciated the epilogue.

I am trying to be fair

This is an old book and Marie Force probably wasn’t aware of the power of a good narrator!

Overly long, but enjoyable

This is a story with a few too many twists and turns, and it could have been edited more tightly imo. Also, I felt the heroine was pretty indecisive about which admirer to choose; she just kept waffling.

Listeners should be warned that it has a 'we were on a break' plotline, so it could be seen by some as having cheating in it. I did not interpret it that way, but others might.

Overall, I did like the story. It was unusual and the hero was pretty much a dreamboat. It was interesting and exciting, and the major characters were carefully delineated so it was easy to understand motive and behavior.

My biggest complaint was the narration. It was very slow, I had to speed it up a bit in order not to fall asleep. The pacing and word emphasis was often off, and the narrator does not seem to have a very wide range of character voices. She does male and female and that's about it. So it made the book far more tedious than it should have been given the interesting plot.
