Royalty, Villains, and Spies, OH MY!

I loved it!! As expected, Iris Johansen's creative imagination did not disappoint as she adds another captivating story to the Eve Duncan series. She has become my favorite author and I'm obsessed with getting through the entire series. I love the way she blends edge-of-your-seat thrills with a pinch of love story and a dash of supernatural all the while telling stories of family commitment and survival. It's well written and the narrator is very good at portraying the different voices which makes it a fun listen. This book maintained my interest from start to finish. It's very good!

In this book, the author takes us to a small country in Africa where interesting new characters are introduced. Characters I expect will show up again in future books. While in Africa, Eve and her gang once again face-off with pure evil. One of my many favorite parts takes place between a slave and her mistress in a dark cave that's filled with treasure. I love how the author built this fictitious story around the history of a real life Egyptian queen. The very last chapter is the author's notes on that topic where she explains the connection (or disconnect... depending how you want to look at it).

If you love psycho killers and mystery thrillers, give this book a chance. You will not be disappointed!

Enjoyed this book

Really enjoyed this book. Kind of hooks you at the beginning and keeps you wanting more. New characters that you’d think could be carried over into later books. Guess we’ll see.

A really good book

I love this series and I loved the new characters introduced in this one. It makes me feel like we might hear about them in some future books. Great great narration by Ms Rodgers as usual.
