Publisher's Summary

In Sexual Intelligence, Dr. Marty Klein shows how our ideas about sex - and ourselves - are more important than a perfect body or exotic techniques. With many engaging examples from his thirty-year private practice, Marty provides a robust, practical perspective that makes it impossible for people to fail at sex - because they don't aim for success.

Great insight to relationships

Dr. Klein has a keen understanding of the impact our beliefs have on sexuality. This book contains many stories that are helpful in challenging your own thoughts that limit your ability to enjoy sex.

Really Opens Your Eyes

This is a great book. I love books that opens our minds and allows us to see things differently. This book had done just that in regards to sex.

We have so many prejudices, stipulations, discomfort, and hang ups about sex. We think we're not sexy enough, or good enough. We have limitations saying oral sex isn't real sex, or we can get an orgasm from foreplay.

This book will help higjlight some of the problems and baggage we bring with us into the bedroom. Are you insecure about your body? Is sex different now that your older? Do you use sex to fill some other kind of psychological need?

It doesn't teach you how to be good in bed, but how to define sex in your own way. To enjoy the process of sex instead of focusing on a two second orgasm. And in the end you will see how we define sex and sex doesn't define us.

Thank you Marty Klein!!

If you have an understanding of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), then you will instantly identify with, and be receptive to, the ideas Klein is communicating in this book. His method is to help people, from ages 20 to 100 who are not experiencing a comfortable and satisfactory sex life, to apply EQ to sex. If you do not apply EQ to your life and SQ to your sexual desires, you will NOT achieve what you want from either. It's just not possible.

Insightful

Even for those of us who are somewhat open minded or at least curious about our sexuality, this book offers an insightful approach to how we view sex and sexuality. I have enjoyed listening to ideas that offer without judgement some sort of reassurance to one’s sense of self as a sexual being, while at the same time challenging preset ideas that might inhibit our potential to be free while also being responsible.

Really great. Should be requires reading in high school.

A lot of good stuff in here. And the narrator, probably one of the best I’ve heard in a while. I would honestly seek out more stuff from the narrator. I know this isn’t a very thorough review but trust me, you should read this book.

INTELLIGENT!

I like this audio book because he tells us that everyone is only human, and we are naturally sexual. We all can have a better, healthier sex life, but we get caught up in our own issues and illusions of how sex should be or how we are taught about it. He tell us to "LET IT GO!" Let go of our inhibitions and start just enjoying sex for sex's sake.

Nothing new here

Author repeats frequently To get over your shit and just have sex. It seems he says that in every single chapter. Not how to get over your shit but to just get over it

Useful

this book is useful! I would recommend it to anyone 30 and up. Unfortunately, I would like to recommend it to younger people, but there is a lot of focus on how all younger people begin having sex under the influence of drugs and alcohol and that sex for younger people is somehow inherently better or easier than for older people. I don't think that that is true, so it is unfortunate that the book contains this assumption and seems to repeat it again and again. The appendix for counselors and doctors at the very end is really good and I think it could have been expanded on. I think it is critical for people to understand that when they see a counselor, their counselor comes to the profession with their own unexamined biases and there was always the risk of the client receiving bad and damaging advice because of that. in any case, a book I would recommend to anyone who wants to be more emotionally liberated to experience the fun of sexual intimacy.

Better for people over the age of 40

I think the subject is good however as a 26 year old I do not find it relevant and this wasn't clear once buying. it's much better suited for an older reader 40+

Informative but lack of practical solutions

The book is packed with information and interesting stories but lacks applicable solutions. For example when the author tells you to "let it go" he doesn't give you any method on how to manage to do it. It's still a good book overall
