Creepy, yet thrilling!

This book has so much details on serial killers. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the mindset behind the grevious evil perpetrated by these twisted folks, however, listening to the details of their lives sometimes put everything into perspective. This kind of closure (not the best words, but close. Nothing can rationalize the twisted nature of serial killers!) is what this book offers by shedding light on some intricate details about the serial killers, their victims, and the role of the law enforcement agencies.

Pretty Good

This was a really good encyclopedia concerning serial killers. I really liked that it branched out from the US and dealt with cases from around the world, and that it talked about cases that aren't known by the wider public instead of just focusing on serial killers that people have heard of, such as Jeffrey Dahmer or Fred and Rosemary West. It was pretty cool in that it also focused on female serial killers as well, such as the woman who poisoned her stepchildren with acid. Each chapter is quite small, so it's not massively detailed, but it does have a quick overview of each victim, their childhood, how they killed, their victims, the timeline of events and their capture/imprisonment and death, if applicable.

A real thriller

This audiobook is as captivating as it is chilling. But then, the stories of serial killers are usually of that sort. This book details the profile of some of the most notorious predatory humans, their activities, victims, lair/tactics, etc. Be sure, the stories here are not for the faint-hearted.

Serial killers in alphabetical order

This book lists serial killers in alphabetical order. While being set up like a traditional encyclopedia, the content allows for easier listening. Also, there isn't as much gruesome detail for each killer making it easier for those that don't want to know all the details.

A classic serial killer book

This book is like early Christmas for true crime fans, or if you are all about the dark and ominous. Specifically about serial killers and their respective despicable acts that are somehow part of our history. Commendations on the narration as well, it completely emphasizes the extent of the book's details and commitment to providing actual educative and somewhat entertaining value..

Simply powerful in its entirety!

Initially it seemed slow to start, then it ramped up to a point where I could not stop to listen. My morning and evening commutes where engrossed in this book. Well worth the read, I learned a lot, and it made me think about how pure evil exists in some people.

A look-up of 1000+ serial killers

This book is cool and very informative. As expected from an encyclopedia-type book, it covers just enough details on each subject to get the listener slightly familiar. The plan here is not to fully delve into all the details (else the book will be seriously long, and perhaps boring), but to serve as a sort of database for the subject matter. I think this is especially cool for aspiring true crime fans, or those that are just doing research. They get the basic details without some of the real gore.Depending on your need, this book could be the difference between sitting through a Google session on serial killers and quickly finding the right information. Also, the subjects are introduced in a serial/alphabetical order; I think this is meant to speed up indexing.

The Big Book of Serial Killers

Thïs book is exactly what it says it is, an encyclopedia of serial killers. It gives basic information on many serial killers. With this being said, it doesn't translate well to audio book format unless all you want is to go through hours of listening in alphabetical order. I would like to read the e-book version. Jack Rosewood is an expert on this subject!

A great resource! Both chilling and fulfilling!!

This is a great resource for anyone interested in serial killers. Like the title says it covers 150 of these cold-hearted killers. There are killers from all over the world profiled here, many famous, many not so well know. All I can say is that you had really better have a strong constitution as this is not for the faint-hearted or those of the weak stomach. It can be down right chilling. This book covers intricate details about each individual, including their stalking/hunting habits, their trials, things they said, and so forth. You don't get a thumbnail, you get a complete rundown on these people. It almost comes across as one of those alphabet agencies dossiers. I don't you could ask for more information, even if you had an individual book done on these monsters, one by one. Each profile is concise and tight, but not bare-bones by any means.

Great listen! Kept me intrigued throughout

The method that Rosewood used to link all of the stories together and organize the chapters was an entirely new and refreshing experience for me. What also stood out was that even though the stories were short, the book included nuggets of info that I had never heard before even though I've read full length books on a number of the crimes included. I wouldn't say this gave the crimes an entirely new angle, but it absolutely fleshed out my perspective in ways that I hadn't previously considered and kept me glued to my headphones. I recommend this book both to those who are experienced true crime readers and those who are brand new to genre.
