Publisher's Summary

As a young man, Randall Woodfield had it all; he was a star athlete with good looks and was an award-winning student. Working in the swinging West Coast bar scene, he had more than his share of women. But he wanted more than just sex. An appetite for unspeakable violent acts led him to cruise the I-5 highway through California to Washington, leaving a trail of victims along the way. As the list of the dead grew, the police mobilized to stop a twisted killer who had 44 known deaths to his name.

Very interesting from beginning to end.

The narrator and content were excellent. No problem with skipping as some reviewers mentioned before.

Another 5 Star Winner from Ann Rule

Here we have another winner penned from the great late Ann Rule. It is one of her earlier works when she wrote under a pseudonym of Andy Stack. I thought this was brilliant. Loaded with relevant facts. Great build up lacking in fluff.

It is an horrendous story without a doubt. A serial killer without any heart whatsoever. His poor victims and every single detail of what he put them through . Listing it all down for us but in palatable form. Laurel Merlington gives a faultless performance.

If you love the genre you must enjoy Ann Rule. I think that this is one of her best.

reality check

Would you consider the audio edition of The I-5 Killer to be better than the print version?

I did not read the printed version. I was under the impression that audio was the same. I will read the book later. I just finished the audio version. Enjoyed. It was heavy in thought.

What did you like best about this story?

I lived in the areas where this crime was commited

Which character – as performed by Laural Merlington – was your favorite?

This book was like receiving information from a news cast. She did well coming across and did well in her voices.

If you could give The I-5 Killer a new subtitle, what would it be?

none

Good Read (or Listen)

Where does The I-5 Killer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book, although not the best, was a very good true crime book.

Any additional comments?

Other reviewers complain that there are holes in the story. There were a couple of times I thought, "Hey, what happened to ...." or "Wait, where did that come from ..." But, overall, the story was easy to follow.

Great book.

Great book for true crime buffs. Narrator could have been better. Several words mispronounced, which seems odd.

Great read!

I finished the book in 3 days. Loved this book. Horrible to hear how crazy someone can be and still seem so normal to the majority of people. I love reading all of Ann Rules books!!! She is a wonderful author!

The story is good - not AMAZING but I don't regret

I mean well written for sure, the speaker kind of killed it for me. I really like male readers and have a hard time listening to eldery women talk that long - but that's me.. though... it's good.. the man's sick so ... well I won't say the ending...

Great story - well writen & narrated

I believe I have listened to another of Ann Rule's books, but cannot recall for sure. This is a true crime winner. Great info, detail, as gruesome as it is to hear, it is well written & Laural does it great justice w/narration. I was just young enough that this story was not prevalent in my memory, but my family lived in the area so I was intrigued to hear the story. Didn't have any playback or skip problems - flawless. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys true crime as much as I do!
