Publisher's Summary

Dr. Joseph Murphy’s classic book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind was first published in 1963 and became an immediate best seller; it was acclaimed as one of the best self-help guides ever written. Following the success of this work, Dr. Murphy lectured to thousands of people around the world, and millions tuned in to his daily radio program. In his lectures, he pointed out how real people have radically improved their lives by applying specific aspects of his concepts.

Now, these lectures have been combined, edited, and updated in six audio books that bring Dr. Murphy’s teachings into the 21st century and provide listeners with his proven tools on how to program their subconscious minds so that they can radically improve their lives.

In this audio book, Dr. Murphy reminds us that we all worry - mostly about things that will never happen. Worry robs us of vitality, enthusiasm, and energy; and often causes ulcers, high blood pressure, and other debilitating diseases. Dr. Murphy teaches us how to replace fear and worry with harmony, peace, and love, and recommends prayers and meditations that will cleanse the mind of irrational concerns and implant uplifting ideas into the subconscious.

parts are good, very good. Very wordy

read it in small parts to and from work - about 20 min. each way. I couldn't listen more than 30 min. in one sitting. A little too deep sometimes. Author very knowledgeable. overall worth my time.

OVERLY RELIGIOUS

What disappointed you about Maximize Your Potential Through the Power of Your Subconscious Mind to Overcome Fear and Worry?

I cant listen to it because it's non-stop religious drivel. Obviously I didn't know what I was getting into with "Dr." Joseph Murphy, he was a priest.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was ok, a little dry.

Any additional comments?

Never again, dr. murphy

A REALLY REALLY LONG SERMON - AVOID!!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

First, be more honest in the title and add that the book is completely based on religious beliefs. The narration is poor, no energy. Far too much repetition on material covered. Information could have been provided in a much shorter time and with more enthusiasm.

Has Maximize Your Potential Through the Power of Your Subconscious Mind to Overcome Fear and Worry turned you off from other books in this genre?

Absolutely, this title was a waste of a credit/money. This is the second title I have purchased on the topic that has far too much religion as the overwhelming theme. The other title was by Ben Carson. It really bothers me when authors use general titles to disguise their religious agendas.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sean Pratt?

Being this is really a book on religious faith, any good public speaking baptist minister would have been a far better. How about Billy Crystal? I enjoyed his recent book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book sparked feeling of anger initially as I felt the title is misleading. But I told myself to give it a chance to and be open to the information so as to gain something from it. But the more I listened the more I found myself tuning out. Really disappointed with the time invested in this book.

Any additional comments?

This book needs to be classified as a religious title and not Self-Help. The narrator just rambles on and on and on about essentially the same message for hours. Terrible listen! Wish I could get my money back on this one.

Good narrator, nice voice.

This audio book is easy to listen to and has a review section at the end of each chapter, it also has examples taken from case studies to help get the point across. If you need a calming influence this book will help you achieve it.
