Publisher's Summary

The Secret of the Ages should rightfully be called the original The Secret. It is one of the pioneering works on the powers of the universal mind and the subconscious mind.

The author says about this audiobook: "The great 'Middle Class' has to bear the burdens of both the poor and the rich - and take what is left for itself. It is to them that I should like to dedicate this book. If I cannot endow libraries or colleges for them, perhaps I can point the way to get all good gifts for them. For men and women like them do not need 'charity' - or even sympathy. What they do need is inspiration - and opportunity - the kind of inspiration that makes a man go out and create his own opportunity. And that, after all, is the greatest good one can do anyone. Few people appreciate free gifts. They are like the man whom admiring townsfolk presented with a watch. He looked it over critically for a minute. Then - 'Where's the chain?' he asked. But a way to win for themselves the full measure of success they've dreamed of but almost stopped hoping for - that is something every young couple would welcome with open arms. And it is something that, if I can do it justice, will make the 'Eternal Triangle' as rare as it is today common, for it will enable husband and wife to work together - not merely for domestic happiness but for business success as well."

If you are even remotely interested in the subject

I was lead to this book after reading many other more recent titles and am thankful to have found it. It was Napoleon Hill's books that directly brought me to Collier and I can't get enough. Many newer books seem to be inspired by Collier and Hill so imho why not go to the source. If you are concerned about religious content, I suggest wholeheartedly to read it anyway; though the books authors are decidedly Christian it is clear that their premise is a spiritual one and applicable regardless of your deity. I cannot praise this book highly enough, I view it as a gift from Collier and could not be more appreciative. I was hoping Bob was still alive to thank him personally but found his family is continuing his legacy. I can't recommend this or his other books enough.

Phenomenal and life changing

I found the used copy of this book and began reading it, realizing that it correlated with all the writings of Neville Goddard, U. S. Anderson, and Wayne Dyer. Written by Robert Collier in 1926, this book was the predecessor to writings by the previous mentioned authors. If we would only approach his and others’ writings with an open mind and realize that the answer to everything is contained in the universal mind which we have access to at any given time, we could change everything in our lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for the true answer in which they search.

Narrator Pleasant but hard to listen to

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I could not complete this book and returned it. The narrator has a very pleasant voice, but speaks in small bite size sentences, has little to any inflection in his voice. Listening at home to this title I feel fast asleep. If you are looking for narrator to help you sleep buy this book, if you want to understand the contents then dont.

Not your generic manifestation book

Your probably thinking another book about the secret or great another manifestation book. At least that’s what I thought until I blew through this.

Out of all those types of books the teachings and wisdom of this particular one stuck with me the most. Great buy. One that I will listen to again...and again.

The original Secret unabridged

I rate this timeless classic right up there with "Think and Grow Rich". Don't let the Biblical references, contained herein, keep you from benefitting from the lessons they teach. We only need to apply the insights and interpretations of what Jesus said, found in this book, to benefit tremendously. If you're Christian, you may find answers to questions you've always had about what Jesus taught us. Let go of the lack and limitation in your life. Live the way our Creator intended us to live. Abundantly! This book is as good a guide to the "good life" as I've ever read. The audio version is excellent!

unable to finish

I've listened to many of these books, but was unable to finish this one. In my opinion, he just spouts rubbish with some of the medical contents / advice being down right dangerous. Refund please!

great book

I didn't like the huge amount of religious reference but if you can manage to push past that the message is profound and the lessons are priceless.
