Publisher's Summary

Few spiritual concepts have fascinated and confused people more than understanding God’s calling for their life. Is it primarily about a job or a role? Is it precise or general? Is a calling only reserved for those who work in professional ministry? The truth is actually amazingly profound: What we are supposed to do is what we most want to do.

This is a guide for discovering God’s design and destiny for your life. Drawing from over 20 years of experience in ministry, Gary Barkalow shares how you can: live alert and oriented to the voice and choreography of God, discover and interpret the voice of your own story, discern the strategic assault against your calling, and recognize God’s intentional training in your life’s journey. Most of all, you’ll be inspired to let the glory of your life touch the world around you.

Every Christian Should Read and Heed This Counsel

Quite simply the most profound and realistic book on calling that I have read in 40+ years old walking with God. Barkalow's wisdom and counsel, if followed, can aid the reader in avoiding heartache, wrong turns and shorten the "learning curve" in hearing God's voice. Wow!

A very important book

Any additional comments?

I am so glad I bought this book! I have been spending the last several years working extremely hard towards a goal only to find that the last few months I have been asking myself, "Is this really what I'm supposed to be doing? Is this my CALLING? Is this where God wants me to go?"

These are hugely important questions for anyone who's trying to follow God and live a good and successful life. Important because we are here with our particular desires and personality traits and histories for a reason--a very meaningful and weighty reason--and we need to wake up to that and live it out. Anything less than living our own unique "design" is pointless.

This book is written extremely well and is not only extremely helpful and informative, but it teaches in a very Godly and humble way. I found that I was not only taught how to see and realise my own calling, but that I was also incredibly refreshed and that my faith and my passion for that calling were reinforced and renewed (thankfully I haven't been walking the wrong way for the last few years after all!)

I can see that the focus of this book really is the author's own calling: to show people how to realise their unique purpose. And he does it really well. In this he is "in his glory".

I won't go into all the details of the book or what you'll find in it, because you can check that out for yourself in the description or other reviews. But I will wholeheartedly recommend the book to anyone who wants to discover and live out their own God-given identity and their unique calling--to anyone who's asking "What am I doing here?"
