Half and half.

First half of the book (about actually being and telling stores about being a PI) were very good. The second half about "protection" were pointless to the theme of the book. There are plenty of books I could've paid for to "learn" these basic and well known facts about protection. Overall, it was decent and got me through half my work shift.

Don't listen with headphones

The studio neglected a pop-mic or something, every S, TH, C, CH, and all those sounds are absolutely unbearable.

Helpful, But Won't Make You A PI

As an investigator I found this book helpful, full of tips from an experienced investigator, lessons learned, and a good foundation in which to build on. This book will not make you a Private Investigator, but does provide insight to get you in the right mindset.

Better than expected!

I’d hoped this would be a useful book, but when you see the ratings or reviews you wonder. But this was full of the tips and tricks used by an experienced private investigator that you clamor for as a rookie, which I am. The section on identity theft was VERY informative. I can see why some people might think, “could he have included even more how-to?” But this isn’t an encyclopedia, and it would take a few volumes to capture all that information. It’s a great starting point, with simple things even the average citizen could do, and if he wrote a sequel I’d get it. In fact, the only issue I noticed was at the beginning when I couldn’t make out if he was saying “baseball”; it sounded like “basewoof”.
