While it's detailed it's not made for novels. Great for most people but it isn't focused on a creating a great book just on publishing. That said it does what it says it will with detailed information on each step I love this book. It offers a clear step by step path to get your book completed and marketed. It offers specific information about publishing and marketing on Amazon Kindle. Further this book has specific details on websites and software to accomplish the task at hand. It is practical and helpful.

If you want the real nuts and bolts on getting a book, or many books, done - get this. He provided good street wise advice on getting new book ideas, researching, outlining, organizing, writing and publishing your book. Excuse me. I'm going to start listening again, for the third time.
A bit short for my taste but it gets to the meat of what you need to know really quickly. Generally I think it is worth the listen but I would of appreciated more depth as a newbie. The narrator is very pleasant. The bite-sized information is well structured. I'm inspired to get writing right now! Love the smart ass attitude - it works well here and is funny. NOT BORING! Will probably buy the print copy for reference.
Excellent quality audio recording though
The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published gives aspiring writers a unique perspective to getting published, from developing an idea to marketing your finished product.Of course no guide is a magic bullet. An author must come up with a marketable idea and write it well. The Guide helps with that, but its true strength is walking a writer down the path of putting it print. How to use social media, deal with bookstores, locate and lure an agent, deal with contracts, etc. All are covered in detail. The Guide also explains self-publishing and how to overcome the inevitable rejections a first-time writer will experience. For anyone new to the industry who wants to learn the ropes from two people in the know, The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published is the way to go.
Bee helpful in how to give your characters unique traits, motivation and depth. Jonathan Reid makes fleshing out your characters fun and gives clever tips to enhance your story through character. It had some interesting insights and techniques to develop more interesting characters. Jonathan Reid approaches script writing as job more than an art. In this way he makes the daunting task of writing a script seem manageable, even easy. Definitely worth the money and time to read it. Good listen.

I spent a lot of money (for me) to join a self-publishing school to help me launch my first book ever. My best friend is listening this book and doing the same things I am. OK, maybe I just need a lot of hand holding? Or maybe this book is just that good! We'll see when it comes time to launch our books. :)
The book has delivered and over delivered what it promised. Great blueprint for every starting author in ebook publishing business. I can't wait to start implementing it into my book, that I am writing and finishing it right now. See you on the best seller side.
I appreciate people like Jonathan Reid sharing their insights to authors trying to navigate their way into publishing books.
The author obviously has the right to publish a book like this. His writing skills are great and easy to understand! This book has tons of tips and techniques on how to write a book in a short span of time. I admire Ernst Jones writing and I will definitely follows all his tips.

Insightful, humorous. Excellent advice for anyone who is open to the truth about self publishing. I've started to write a book three times. I was so sporadic with my ideas a quit all three times. I just needed some parameters to follow. This book gave them to me
The information in this book is so good it actually prompted me to take notes which I seldom ever do. I'll definitely listen to this book again and I would recommend it to any author as you'll be surprised at how this book will build your confidence, remove your fear and really help you to get started.
