The most important mission of this advance wave was to analyze weapons the humans possessed. Their computers locked on and diverted more and more capacity to analyzing this disruptive object.

The results kept coming back – sharp shiny rock / sharp shiny rock / sharp shiny rock. The computers became fixed on it and as a result the ships hesitated. That hesitation proved fatal.
