"If I were angry or happy or sad or lonely, the response was always the same: turn to this ether promise of comfort and assurance."
Keri Mae Lamar confesses the hold the Internet had on her and how deleting her growing blog gave her the opportunity to examine the incessant call of media. What follows is her story in attempting to cultivate a present life, from selling the treadmill to eating roosters and more. Present will challenge your habits and inspire you to arrange - or rearrange - your life to achieve balance in a technological world with the people you love most.
This book was just what I needed. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Blessings!
I have loved this audio! Keri Mae has a wonderful writing style that was easy to listen to and understand. She has made herself vulnerable and articulated well her struggle with Internet & media addiction, which is exactly what it is, and has helped me gain understanding as to why this is an issue and a way forward for what is already an issue for myself and my family. Distraction is a great description, a perfect word for the feeling I have associated with the rabbit warren that is the World Wide Web. I do feel more confident now to tackle this for me and my family - we have to do something different than what we are currently, not remove ourselves from the modern world but learn a better way of living within it. Thanks Lamar Family for your encouragement and inspiration xx
