Somewhat annoying

Being very familiar with this book as I have it in my paperback library I have to say that I would have enjoyed the audio version much more if the annoying sound effects in the recording were eliminated. At times they actually drown out the narration of James Doohan and Lenoard Nimoy.

very nice abridgement, but...

This reading does bring you right into the action, expressing the emotions very well. But it's too short! I whole heartedly recommend reading the book for a more detailed and encompassing version of the story. Fans will be able to hear the voices of their favorite characters in their minds as they read. The more complete version of this story is even more satisfying than this well rendered audio version. Either way, it's easy to become emotionally involved and invested in Spock's reunion with his son. However, if you have only a limited time and need to be hands-free, this audiobook is a very good way to spend a little time in the Star Trek universe.

Loved it!

Spock, Kirk & McCoy travel through time to once again save the universe. This book is a great follow up to Yesterday's Son.

Great book, I wish it wasn’t abridged.

The book and narrator were great. I just wish the book itself wasn’t abridged as the details that they remove are certainly felt.

AIt was a fantastic book and a great audio! I love the series. I wish it could continue for at least 2 more books and, possibly, audio books too.

Short but good

I listened to this book while fishing in virtual reality before work.
it was a good read. although abridged, it was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it while castibg my reel on the shore of a beach on a rainy day in south Korea . The production was really good with the voices of Leonard Nimoy and James Doohan. the production included Audio FX. and original theme music - easy read and enjoyable while I'm in my own " holodeck"
