Would you consider the audio edition of A Witch's Trial to be better than the print version?
Yes! With the amazing voice talent of the narration we get different voices for each and every character bringing them to life. But the emotion and needed pauses as people talk gives the story a fourth dimension we would not get by reading alone.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Witch's Trial?
I loved when Elron decided to train Michelle with a weapon. It is needed but their banter shines through for the moments we see. Also when he gives her a new wand. There is a trick to it. ;)
What about Jeff Hays’s performance did you like?
Jeff and his talented many voices. I love all the different voices! Which it also makes it easy to know all the characters as the cast is a full one with many visiting as well. The different voices also keep it interesting and keeping my mind from drifting. The emotion he shares. Jeff knows when to put the accent pauses in and drawn emotion in his voice at the right places. All accents the story and what the characters are bring to the scene. He brings the story to life, like talking with a group of friends.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! I was able to get through much of the book at work in a day (I read when at work) and was able to get the remainder in the next day.
Any additional comments?
This story picks up EXACTLY where A Witch's Path ends. Oh, the crazy days of magical troubles. Magical people and beings living in the world with humans keep Michelle on the go with the active troubles.
This third book has added to the world and troubles Michelle is facing magnificently! I thoroughly enjoying the story and narrations. It's drawn me in deeper with the depth of all Michelle has been through leading to now. Amazing building upon all events we've been through to get to this point with character, world, and troubles from the previous books. The world rules have become clearer with each step as well.
This book is good clean fun with the world of paranormal creatures and beings. There's not a lot of sex or swearing (actually at this point I think none). There are close relationships of love for family and friends and growing loves along with battles fought and dangers in the world. I didn't miss the swearing and sex in this story. Michelle is on the go with enough troubles and turmoil that they aren't needed to keep your attention.
There is more to come, we see that now. And in a world full of magically potential troubles, why not?! I can't wait to get more with Michelle and our cast of colorful characters!

Alright book three finally answers some stuff. All the intrigue from the first two books is coming to a head. This series is fascinating, but a slow build to this point. I have enjoyed all the police procedural mixed with urban fantasy, it has been steady action. This book finally sees us get all of Elron and most of Michelle's backstory. There are still a few mysteries, but generally this finishes up the major plot that started the series.
The romance with the two leads is sweet and a touch melancholy. The whole, his wife isn't really dead thing puts a real cramp in the budding romance. Still it has a nice way of building and giving more of their feelings. I expect the next book will move things along further, still keeping it clean.
For me the big battle was anti-climactic, it just lacked the big bang I had expected. Things seemed to be rather tame really, what kind of bad guy juts stands there and lets the minions do all the attacking? I expected a Michelle vs Demon rumble. Most of the fighting occurred with the supporting characters while the other two kind of watched.
The narration was again great, as long as you speed it up. Jeff Hayes has a way of sounding feminine, but only at the faster speeds. Normal setting for me was weird and tortuously slow. I also think he has a great manner of keeping voices distinct and clear. The men do sound like they are speaking through a tunnel at times. Overall, he does a nice job, I would be curious to hear him read a book where the lead is a male.
I am ready for the next book, sadly it is not yet in audio. Here is where I have to make a tough choice between waiting for the audio and snagging the already available ebook. Decisions, decisions!

I am enjoying book 3 very much. I am glad that the romance between Michelle and Elron is progressing. Michelle is also improving in her magical abilities and her allies are increasing also. I hope book four will be released soon.
I LOVE this series! Author N.E. Conneely is extremely talented and she has a gift for writing as it shows in her stories. Conneely has a vivid imagination, she writes a perfect for the characters, and a plot in each story that promises you that more will come. This is a great series that I have fallen in love with as with the characters. I think she writes Michelle's great but my favorite character is Elron and yes, I do think I'm in love with this very old elf. I must tell you that you shouldn't skip a book, you must read the first book in the series or you will miss out. In Witch's Trials there's many questions that I had from the previous two audios but this one answers a lot of those questions I've had. This story is filled with intrigue, mystery, suspense, secrets, adventures, deaths, and many twists and turns along the way.
Jeff Hays has become my favorite narrator for males. I really think he is destined to grow into a narrator that will be sought after by many well known authors. He has such talent and he's so good that his female voices and such are him and no equipment used to get them like other narrators need. He does a perfect job with female voices and accents. His male voices are even better. I haven't had any trouble ever being able to distinguish and identify any characters as they speak. Jeff is extremely gifted and if you have never listened to him then I highly recommend you start with this series. Overall, another 5 star rating! I know that A Witch's Concern book #4 isn't available in audio format yet but I will wait patiently until it comes to Audible.
I received this audio at no charge from the author/narrator in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
