Publisher's summary

All’s fair in reincarnation and war.

You’ve heard the stories of Norse gods: Thor, Odin, Ragnarok...I’m here to tell you they’re all true. I know because I was there.

My name is Loki. A thousand years ago, give or take a century or two, I walked the Nine Realms with my brothers, spreading mischief and leaving behind a trail of broken hearts wherever I roamed. I built an unforgettable brand as the trickster god, the father of the Midgard Serpent, Fenrir the wolf, and even Hel herself. In my exploits, I may have accidentally on purpose triggered a bit of unpleasantness that led to the end of the world, but apparently, it wasn’t the end of me. Recently, the shield of ice that froze me in an arctic cage melted (thanks, global warming), and I clawed my way to the surface of a new world.

With a fresh lease on life and a rocking-hot body, I just need one thing: the rune that grants me immortality.

Oh, and a bra would be nice. These boobs really know how to get in the way of a good hustle.

Book 1 in the Asgard Awakening comedy series.

Loki's back, and he's a she! Grab your chicken!

Fans of Kendall Grey will love this fresh, funny, fabulous take on Norse Mythology. Kendall Grey newbies will find this a fabulous introduction to her snappy dialogue and engrossing story telling. If you're looking for something with plenty of humor, lots to say, and an unusual take on life, love, and Odin, it's time to dive in unreservedly and get this story.

Forget everything Marvel told you about Loki and listen to this outrageously different and new story about an old character. And it's not just the new boobs that make life a problem for Loki, either. It's the fact that he's got no identity, no idea where he is, and no clue what's going on around him. Throw in a hot scholar/Viking/rescuer, a television show based ever so loosely on the life he once knew, an airplane ride (the likes of which you'll never forget), and a busted a$$ chicken, and you've got the recipe for a hysterical story featuring your favorite trickster god.

Natalie Duke is excellent at evoking Loki's attitude and bringing the snark, which is so important to this story. Excellent choice in narrator.

Get this audio book, listen, laugh, and love it! I promise you won't ever find another story like this.

A Hilarious twist on mythology!

Finally, someone has breathed new life into an all too common storyline!
Loki in our modern day world. Oh yeah, he is now a woman. Loki's journey to find his missing runes and the all too interesting Gunner Magnesson takes you from Iceland to the US via a hilarious ride in an airplane baggage compartment! Throw in Odin's spy, Huginn, who is now a scraggly chicken, and Gunner's stoner friend, Freddy, and you have a witty, mythical, laugh out loud tale from a truly unique point of view! This story is non-stop and worth a second listen. A word of caution, the twist at the end will leave you wanting so much more!

Gunner Magnesson Love him

The Narrator does an Excellent Job on this Audio book, This cover is the perfect rendition of Loki & that chicken Hugin, the story is a good one , took a while to get going , the first half for me felt it was infrmation , the why's, how's then the introduction to Gunner Magnesson , love that guy , Freddy , some funny moments, took till the eighth chapter for me to laugh out loud a few chuckles till then & using his/her feminine whiles , getting what she needs , its not till she gets to the USA that she realises she needs to find her runes ,as the book continues Loki's feelings turn more feminine , lessons are being learned ,Lagoose is found , but there are more to be found , Its a to be continued book . A great first book so Kendall get writing <3 :-)

Laughed out loud multiple times

This was a very enjoyable book from start to finish! Looking forward to the next one. The characters were well developed, the dialog was snappy and funny, and the book passed all too quickly. I thought the narration was very much on point also. I definitely highly recommend this book.

Laugh out loud

I'm not even sure why I picked this book initially, but I'm glad I did. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first because of all of the ball jokes, but several minutes in the book quickly redeemed itself. We stumble upon Loki - the only problem is he is now she - without her runes, magic, immortality, and no idea how to function in 2019. She emerges from the ice naked and cold and the first thing she needs is to be rescued.

Loki goes in search of the runes that give her power, causing mischief and mayhem wherever she goes including international chicken smuggling.

I'm not too terribly familiar with Norse mythology so I can't say anything about the accuracy but it matches with other things I have seen.

Overall I really enjoyed the book and I'm happy I got to read it. I was provided a code in exchange for my honest review.

My Fave Listen Of 2019 Summer!!

Runed has got to be my fave listen of the summer! Loki's journey is exciting and comical - it is rare for me to laugh out loud while reading or listening but I found myself doing just that multiple times through out this book. The narrator is fantastic with distinguishable character voices that really bring the story to life. I loved everything about this book. It was my first from this author but definitely not my last. I can't wait to see where Loki's journey takes us in the next book! SQUARKK!!!

So much fun!!💜

This story was hilariously entertaining. The circumstances of this story was so funny and I found myself laughing out loud at times. I must admit I’m not familiar with the traditional story of Loki but it didn’t matter, this story was absolutely brilliant!!
I have a couple of things to say about the narration.
I’m no expert on accents, but the accent seemed a little off, but it was mostly in the beginning. This did not change how much I loved her narration or this book.
That being said, Natalie Duke is an excellent narrator. Her portrayal of each character was really really good. (Including the chicken) lol
This is book 1 with an HEA
I highly recommend this book.
