Publisher's Summary

The most dangerous man is the only one she wants....

Stanton Rourke lives life on the edge. The steely mercenary is dangerous in every way...especially to Clarisse Carrington's heart. She and Rourke were playmates as children, but she's not the innocent girl he once knew. When tragedy robbed Clarisse of her entire family, her life was changed forever. Besides, she's a grown woman now, and there are secrets that hold her back from succumbing to her pursuer.

As she struggles to keep her distance, sparks as hot as a Texas summer fly between them. But danger is following Clarisse, leaving her no choice but to rely on Rourke, even as the old wounds lying dormant between them flare up again....

Another outstanding book!

Once again praise for the story & great characters. Rourke has been showing up in several other of Diana's books and now he has his own story. Great read!

Disappointing

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I cannot think of who I want to annoy that badly.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something from the Kristen Ashley Burg series.

Have you listened to any of Todd McLaren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I like all the Diana Palmer books he has done. I really loved Lawman.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Todd McLaren!

Any additional comments?

Diana Palmer is my fictional drug of choice. Diand Palmer should stay with the sweet stories and stop trying to compet with Lori Foster and Linda Howard. The reason I have almost all Diana Palmer books is the sweet and simple story. I do not care that a lot of her plots are recycled. I know that you cannot have that many older men with younger women in Texas who are mersonaries rich in law inforcement finished medical school and run a ranch. I am a long time fan. My short list of Diana Palmer books I will never read again 1 king and 2 untamed. I have been waiting for Rourke's story for so long and I am so disappointed. Spoiler alert.

Really! What contract killer uses Miskitoes as a weapon and where in heck do you get them! I am just annoyed by that.

Rourke!

Finally we get Rourke's story and leading lady, Clarissa (Tat). The storyline is similar to past storylines involving the Jacobsville crew (mercs, etc.) and pretty much every woman they are destined to be with are young, mainly blonde, irresistible...yada, yada. Of course gaming had to be mentioned (typical). I the story 3 stars because it was too similar to previous stories.
