Wary of love, the beautiful Amazon wants nothing to do with the tormented vampire. Yet there's no denying their consuming desire every time he nears her.

Not a very good book

way too sappy. the book is like a reality tv show. and to make it worse, she constantly says the same things over and over. i couldnt even get through the first 6 chapters before i had to quit listening.

Get on with it already.

Where does The Vampire's Bride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Probably near the middle which doesn't mean much cause I don't read many books I don't like.

Would you be willing to try another book from Gena Showalter? Why or why not?

Yes. I don't hate her books, but I am not to where I just couldn't live without her either.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene where she is not discussing how inadvertently smitten the two are without wanting to admit it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really. This book is more of a guilty pleasure. There is nothing particularly inspirational about it.

Any additional comments?

The story line is not a bad one. The only reason that this book doesn't get better reviews is because the author felt the need to drone incessantly about the attraction between the two and how neither, especially the vampire, are willing to admit it. If is hand't been for that then the story line would have been a good one. I just feel that there is so much more that Showalter could have done with the story, given that she didn't dwell on the two longing for each other and denying one another.

I think these books gain something when someone reads them to me. Definitely not literature, but who doesn't need some fun ;)

Awful, had too many sub-stories which took away from the two main characters. Most of the book was the heroin trying to force herself on the hero and the hero saying he did not want her, although he did. Image most of the book " I know he wants me I can see it in his eyes". " I don't want you, what is it about her that I want her but I am not going to take her, she has cast a spell on me". Chapter after chapter of repeating those words in different ways

Well done!

Intresting and intriguing, this book kept me listening even when I didn't need too. The narration is quite amazing, the reader really seemed to get the picture the author was trying to convey. The story line was good the only comment I would have to stay is that I got more attached to the side stories at times then the main plotline. In all it was defiantly a good purchase.

Admittedly, I was cautious about this book from the start. I have to wonder about the quality of writing when an author is very prolific and this was no exception. I was very disappointed with the storyline and writing. It is basically a survivor rip-off with mythical creatures being manipulated by the gods. I guess I can see how Ms. Showalter can be so prolific with her writing as she borrowed the concept from other genres. There aren't any new twists to the basic story you'd find on a t.v. episode. They even have the vote off the island ceremony! I preferred the side-stories to the main plot. They were more interesting by far but still somewhat bland. The narration was good, but I was just bored with the story half-way through. I will not buy another book by this author.

Slow moving

Sub stories confusing, so many switches between them. Loose continuity of story. Just wanted to get on with it, to be done with it
