“Our family will always have room for a few more Moores.”

The Moore family is growing exponentially this year! All three brothers are enjoying their happily ever afters. Julian and Xander only have four weeks to plan their dream wedding and are waiting impatiently to welcome two homeless teens into their family. Amidst all the merriment, Chance discovers that he has siblings, and they need his help. He’s forced to confront his past, but he won’t have to face it alone.

The Moore the Merrier is a funny, heart-warming, steamy, MM gay romance. This Moore Romance novella (book 2.5) takes place immediately after the events in book two: Love You, Moore. It is written in third-person from the point of view of six people and their pets, with a HEA ending and no cliffhangers.

Mating Habits of Domesticated Geeks in New York

I will give you this warning – there are MULTIPLE points-of-view (including the pets). This makes listening a challenge. Each chapter provides the name of the person/dog/cat whose POV is being presented. Written on paper, it is easy to scroll back. On audio? A bit more attention has to be paid.

But totally worth it.

Sean Lenhart has narrated all the books in the series and he is great. His over-the-top portrayal of Julian is still present and completely spot-on. To some listeners, however, it might be a bit much. Once you get used to it, though, it blends in, so hang in there.

I’ll be honest and say I was surprised to see a narrator Jill Smith. Ms. Smith is female and that is almost non-existent in the world of m/m books in audio. Since Sean has done a good job with the other books, I was confused. Within moments that confusion was cleared up.

Jill performs the young teenage boys (Marcus, Jackson, and Dean) as well as the women, and interestingly, the female dogs. She does not narrate at any point, simply speaks their dialogue. Another interesting technique I haven’t heard often, but it works. And her performance of Luna deserves special appreciation. It was perfect and hilarious.

If you are not a pet-lover, or if you have never been curious about an animal mind, those chapters might not be of interest, but, again, give them a chance. I loved them. Humans have limited knowledge of what pets think and how they process the world, but these are humorous interpretations and I am sure there is some truth in all of them. In the end, I enjoyed these chapters.

All four teenagers from Safe Harbor, the LGBT shelter the men volunteer at, have their own chapters. I was pleased that there were definite differences between the twins, named Axel and Diesel by their homophobic father. (Easy to see why they have chosen to go by the names Dean and Jackson.)

The end of Book 2 provided plenty of promise that the teenagers would all have happy endings and this book fulfills that promise, even if things take an unexpected but perfect turn. The ever-expanding Moore family has 4 new teenagers (and one more 4-legged character the listener will have no choice but to fall in love with).

As for the plot, it does cover the end of Book 2 – Julian and Xander’s wedding. And if you know these two men, you’ll know the preparations are going to be a stressful circus. But with their family and friends rallying around them and Christmas celebrations in the meantime, it is fun all around.

This book, like Book 2, often takes a step back in time when the chapter changes. The change of POV often presents the same scene again. It always took me a moment to orient myself, but I’ve come to expect that with these books.

In case you’re wondering, there’s plenty of hot sex. Logan also makes an admission that had me laughing out loud.

Since it’s the Moores, there are family bets, brotherly love, and wonderful parents. There are so many incidents and scenes I want to mention, but I will resist as most would be spoilers. You’ll just have to listen for yourself.

I will say, however, that there are more baby Koalas, manipulative felines, silly canines and, above all, love.

I give the overall a 4.5 but will round up to five because of the 7 pets on the front of the cover.

Insane but fun

This book was insane, and in soo many ways. Mostly good ones though. If you don't like a lot of head-hopping this might not be the book for you, because there is a lot of it in this book. It's also one that won't make much sense if you haven't read the first two books in the series, so I recommend you do that first and come back to this one after that.

I had a lot of fun listening to this book. I will admit that I had a few reservations when I realised one of the narrators was a woman. I was pleasantly surprised when she really worked for this book. Jill Smith and Sean Lenhart performed this book amazingly and I do think that a book with this many characters needs more than one narrator.

Because not only do we get the perspectives of the many, human characters (6 of them to be exact), but we also get their pets, and they are as many in number. And let me tell you that was a ride and a half! Jill and Sean's narrations of the pets are probably my favourite parts; they were so much fun to listen to, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever look at a dog or cat the same way again ;)

The Moore the Merrier is a low-angst and very light hearted book. It does deal with some tough moments, but they are never heavy or brings the mood or feel of the book down. Moore Romance is at times overly sweet and not only because one of them bakes cakes for a living, but at times books like these are just what you need.

All in all this was a quirky and insane interlude to catch up with the Moore family. There is not a serious bone near it, but fun to listen to all the same. I’m waiting to see what these authors can come up with next, because going by this it will be a good one.

Out of the mouth of pets ... !

I loved this continuation of the Julian and Xander's story. The best part was seeing the proceedings from the furbabies POV. They were hysterical.
The collaboration between Sean Lenhart and Jill Smith was really good, but I have to to say that Sean was excellent with both the narrative and non-narrative bits.
This story is best experienced as an audiobook - the animals are hysterical - especially the cats and their territorial ways (the Xmas tree scene is a scream) and Luna. Ms. Smith portrays her brilliantly.
I highly recommend this audiobook, it's so funny :)

Loved the perspectives

This one made me laugh. I loved how the pets were able to get their say in how things went with their charges. It was hysterical. The story itself was sweet. I loved that the twins found their brother and were finally brought home. Looking forward to the other book in the series.

Love The Moores!!

This has rapidly become one of my favorite series!! I love that I can get romance and humor all in one spectacular story. In this book not only do we get POVs from the human characters but also from the pets, LOVE IT!! In this story you follow Julian and Xander as they prepare for their wedding and you also follow Logan and Chance as they bring home Jackson and Dean.
It's a great time filled with love, romance, hot sex, baby koala, and humor. The narrators were absolutely fantastic with all of the characters and bringing this story to life. I especially love the voices for Julian and Luna! Can't wait for the next one to come out in audio!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this audiobook at my request.

More Fun with the Moores!

I love the Moore romance series. This particular audiobook introduces the pets' point of view along with the various humans. I particularly loved the voices and viewpoints of the cats Michelangelo and Leonardo! The pets' reactions to human behavior, especially "sexing," is hilarious. This book completes the story of Xander and Julian's romance and wedding that was begun in I Love You Moore, while developing or expanding relationships for Moore family and friends Tripp and Tommy, and Chance and Logan. The book also resolves the mystery of some of the children at the youth shelter. I was mildly disappointed that the reader doesn't get to experience Xander and Julian's adoption. It is discussed, along with Julian's excitement, but then it is later mentioned as something that has occurred off-page. I was expecting a party and much excitement by all when the adoption plans were shared with the teens and when the process was completed. But, that is a small quibble. I really enjoyed the book overall.

The narration was great! Sean Lenhart did his usual fantastic job, and the addition of Jill Smith to voice the pets, especially excitable Luna, was awesome.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the author. This is my honest, voluntary review.

I can't wait for Moore :)

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would love to recommend this story to a friend. Even though I have read the book multiple times, I was laughing out loud during a good chunk of the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Julien has been my favorite character throughout the stories and this one is no different. I love the dichotomy of fun and flirty with his struggles with depression and his understanding of his own limitations.

Which character – as performed by Sean Lenhart and Jill Smith – was your favorite?

I think Sean Lenhart does a great job with all the characters but he really brings Julien to life. I also like how he does Xander and how the two relate to each other.

Jill Smith did a great job with all of the animals. I was able to picture the exuberance of Luna, the studiousness of Frankie, and the total jerkiness of the cats.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh at so many different points. I love reading the books but the audios are so great, it would be difficult to choose a favorite medium.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the rest of the series. If only production time wasn't a factor. Great job to both narrators for their performances and great job to the author for such a fun story.

I received a review copy of the audiobook but have purchased all of the ebooks.

Awesome!

Audio review.

I absolutely loved this book in print so I was super excited for the audio book. I was a little nervous of the sheer number of characters and dogs in this book and how Sean Lenhart would manage to pull it off. I shouldn’t have worried though Sean was as usual a wonderful narrator and he was joined for this audiobook by narrator Jill Smith! Which was awesome and definitely adds another layer of authenticity to this story. They seamlessly narrate together and it’s beautiful and fluid and engaging.

This is book 2.5 in the Moore Romance series. I’ve absolutely loved this series and this one is just as good. It’s absolutely fantastic! Sweet, laugh out loud funny and full of love. This book is basically a catch up with 6 of the characters from the other books and 6 of their pets. As with the print version I just adored the pets POV chapters, so original and absolutely laugh out loud hilarious! As an animal lover I reallllyyyy enjoyed their chapters.

The main focus of this book is Jackson and Dean finding their brother and moving in with him and also about Julian and Xander planning their wedding. I won't spoil what happens with Jackson and Dean but reading about Xander and Julian's wedding was brilliant, they are continuing to bicker over the wedding arrangements and all their family and friends naturally wade in and get involved. There is at one point a group chat scene which is completely confusingly hilarious and was really well done in audio.

Loved this audiobook and I absolutely cannot wait for book 3!

Great mix of romance and comedy

This story was totally unexpected and I have to admit it caught me off guard. I hadn't read the book before listening to it so when I realized the pets in the story had a voice actually laughed out loud. After seeing them feature in the previous books I felt that their personality really came through in the story. The Narrators did an outstanding job with all the voices. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and hope there's more to come. Well done Alex, V, Jill, and Sean.

Brilliant! Entertaining! Another fantastic listen!

Could rave about yet another great book from Alex Miska and fabulous narration from Sean Lenhart! And made even better with the addition of Jill Smith!
This one fills in in between books 2 and 3. This one brings us a different chapter from all of the characters we've had so far - Logan & Chance, and Julian & Zander - as well as Dean, Jackson, Luna Mikey, Leo, Cassius, Frankie and Roger! Yes. the pets have their own views and are freaking adorable. I loved it as I read it and I loved it even more listening to it. Sean and Jill bring such life and energy to the story and personalities of all of the characters. Though I have to say, the best parts for me were Jill's Luna and Sean's Julian, still making me smile.
I cannot recommend this book enough! It would probably help to listen to the previous two books in the series in order to fully understand what they're talking about at times but it's such a fun listen! Randomly smiling and laughing to myself whilst playing it on my headphones at work gets you some funny looks but so worth it

Good Follow up to last story in series.

Another sweet and funny story from Ms Miska, it had me laughing out loud at times. Really enjoyed that each chapter was from a different view point, even the animals had a say. Loved the wedding and the proposal, they were a nice touch. I would suggest that you make sure you've read/listened to the previous three in order, to get the best out of this one. Lovely story, very well narrated also. Definitely recommended.
