Publisher's summary

Connor, chieftain of the MacDonalds of Sleat, holds the fate of his people in his hands. Rival clans are plotting to take over his lands, and duty determines whom he will fight, trust... even marry. Seeking guidance, Connor turns to Ilysa, a young lass with the gift of foresight, who reveals an approaching danger - and a passion that burns only for him. But the warrior must make a powerful marriage alliance, and Ilysa's bloodline is far too humble.

With her powers to heal and see evil where others cannot, beautiful Ilysa dresses plainly, speaks softly, and loves her chieftain from afar. Yet when Connor finally stokes the embers of desire that have so long burned within her, Ilysa feels bliss unlike any she's ever known. Now as he is forced to place duty before happiness, Ilysa senses Connor is in grave peril. Can she find a way to prove she is the woman he needs by his side?

Love Comes To Those Who Wait.

What a great conclusion to this series! I know I'm not giving anything from the story away when I say that this book is filled with suspense, danger, passion, mystery, betrayal, romance and love. This story lived up to my expectations not only because of the love story between Connor and Ilysa but the story was exciting and held my attention to the end. It is sad that this is the last book in the series but each book had such unique angle that in the end it all came together to produce a great ending.

The narrator did a wonderful job and I highly recommend this series.

AHHHH...... M.M. KEPT THE VERY BEST UNTIL LAST

I'm bereft that this fantastic series about 4 best friends who grew up to became fearless handsome Highland Warriors is finally over and I have to say goodbye forever (sob sob) to characters that I've laughed with, cried with, fought alongside - but above all, I loved them all (oh where's the tissues?).

This compelling final book packs so much in as MM seemlessly whisks you away to the breathtaking Medieval Isle Of Skye where we find a Highland Chieftan, Connor, trying to rebuild the MacDonald Clan whilst also trying to battle between his duty and desire but honor, trust and sacrifice must be met and made for the chance of love and eternal happiness.

There's sub plots galore involving vengeance, greed, evil villains, traitors, spies, secrets, danger, magic, myths, legends and Clan alliances which makes for an action packed, tension filled, adventure that captures one man's plight and the woman who never gave up on him or her dreams.

Sooo many words could describe this listen:- addictive, exciting, emotional, bittersweet, action-packed, romantic, sad, passionate, a heart-wrenching love story but the one word I'm really left with, being a historical/romance lover, and after listening to this great book is UNMISSABLE.

Worth a credit? I do love my drool-worthy hunky Highland tartan clad heroes but Connor's story, for me, had the whole package - so that's a definite YES. Could be stand-alone but don't deprive yourselves of a great series - download all 4 then sit back with a really big bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

FANTASTIC!

As usual the combination of Margaret Mallory and Derek Perkins is almost magical. These books absolutely grab my attention from start to finish! So much so that there is almost no reason to waste a review waxing poetic over it, as it is just that DAMN GOOD. If you have experienced one book presented by the talents of these two stars than you already know how good it is, (altho' this one is one of my favorites) And If you haven't yet experienced this pairing then WHAT are you Waiting for?

NARRATOR: Okay, I'll say it one more time.... I could listen to him all night long (oops, I already did, again!).

CREDITWORTHY? YES YES YESSS....!

HEAT FACTOR: Hot, steamy, and tender too.

The Best of the Serie

I've listen to this one the whole night, I couldn't stop until I finished it just now. The only bad in this book is that it is the last one. I would so hope to continue to listen to another one in this serie. Maybe Neal's or Lachlan`s? If you love Highlander Romance Novels you must listen to this.

Great Great ending....

Wow! Such a good ending... I was so waiting for Conor's story... I loved it... I loved how we meet both main characters in early in the series. We know their personalilites already... So this was so good to see them come together... It wasn't a quick romance either... Conor was so strong waiting for the right woman. I totally loved it. Great Great ending...so wish there was another book...

Narration was great!

Wonderful!

This is the fourth in a series that I have listened to time and time again. The narrator Derek Perkins is is perfect. And of course the author has such a great sense of humor and timing with each character.
Really a joy. Would like for Lauchlin and Neil to have a happy ending also. Can't wait for that

Sometimes the ending is the best

I enjoyed this entire series. The continuation of the villain throughout the series was intriguing. Every novel was well written with developed characters and a strong storyline. This book was my favorite in the series.

Best out of the three

I loved Connor and Ilysa's love story the most out of the others. This one I could feel their love, and it was so pure. True, I didnt like how he finally noticed her just bc she changed appearances, and I disliked how he took her for granted so much, and he had doubted her. But he was still so faithful and loved her a lot and it did pain him so that he had to be a chieftain before he could be a lover to her. & gosh, Ilysa was such a strong heroine, I esp loved her in this. I wish Margaret made a second story or prolonged more on developing Ilysa's character and her abilities. She was such a head strong heroine throughout the entire novel that we don't see much in these kinds of novels.

The best closing book there is.

loved it. The research that Margaret puts into her work is truly amazing. It makes you believe that this story could be real. I am truly sad to see this series end. Derek Perkins is amazing!
