Publisher's summary

Not every alien is an enemy, even if he kidnaps you....

Calista is happy with her life of scientific research. She doesn't need love, she has her books, her friends, and her work. Things are fine until her ship is attacked by space pirates and crash lands on a desert planet with heat so intense she and her friends can't survive without help.

Ladon is a Zmaj warrior resigned to a life alone, who only desires to protect his treasures. His hopes for a mate faded long ago, yet when he meets Calista something stirs. It takes only one look to know that she belongs to him. He's been alone for so long, but she is the ultimate treasure and he will protect her. Now there's only the small problem of her living long enough to understand.

A devastated planet, a mysterious history, space pirates, and threats environmental and alien beset them on all sides. The sexy Zmaj warrior will have to battle the planet's ultimate threat in an epic effort to obtain the one thing he knows Calista needs to survive.

But will the other humans accept this huge and alien-looking dragon warrior? Or will they find him just as big a threat as the rest of the red planet? The future of both their races depends on it.

Contains mature themes.

Dragon instalove!

In this audiobook story, we have a generational shipload of humans who are traveling to a new home planet. They were all born on the ship and won’t reach the new planet in their lifetimes. Pirate aliens attack their ship and it crashes onto a hot, desert planet where it looks like it will be hard to survive. The heroine is a botanist and while she wanders off to see if she can find any native plants she collapses, only to be rescued by one of the male natives who has dragon like features. He sees her as his treasure and mate, not having any females left on their planet. There are a few mild sex scenes and lots of action, in which she has to convince the human survivors that he’s a good alien. There is a plant that grows only on the planet that can save the humans, but it has consequences so the remaining humans have to decide if it’s what they want. Narration was done well, but I wish there had been a male and female narrator. Looking forward to the next audiobook in this series!

What a gray sci-fi romance!

So you crash land on an unknowing planet. You are supposed to be in Flight to an unknown new destination since Earth has been rendered incapable of life. After crash landing, on a mission to discover viable plant life Calista meets the alien hunk who has been alone since his planet the one that she is on was devasted by the inhabitants. Ladin a warrior is a dragon and found his treasure. Hence he saves her several times, helps her to accept life and HEA starts....maybe. I would read more of this series.

Ok if you like Alien Romances

Good concept, but with a lot of inconsistencies with primary characters. For all it’s frustrations, I’ve listened to this book several times before writing a review. I even bought the book. Ladon was completely likeable. Calista was likeable when she used her intelligence; but TSTL too many times. It’s as if the authors had two different heroines, two different characters in mind. I was beyond disgusted with how Calista let Gershon walk all over her, and her denial of her relationship with Ladon.
I liked the concept of the crash on the alien planet, even with the parallels to Dune. I liked the description of the Zmaj, even though this is the desert version of Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians.
I did like the male/female narrator combo in this production.

What a wimpy female

I love books with smart, heroic females who face frightening situations with strength and guile. The heroine in this story isn’t one of those. She screams and cries and cries. She’s supposed to be a scientist, but she has zero problem ability. The characters are at best two dimensional. The basic storyline has promise. The promise was not fulfilled b

A good tale

The main female lead was in a I must be detached and analytical mood long enough for me to get tired of it and be afraid the story would be ruined but it didn’t happen. I have already bought the next book and am looking forward to it

A dangerous place!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎💜❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😠☺️😋🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Callista - she works on a scientific research vessel in space. She is working on strains of wheat. She loves biochemistry and she is one of the third generation aboard the ship. They will live there for their entire lives and won’t reach their destination for another few generations. Her best friend Jolie dreams about falling in love. Though Callista thinks it isn’t for her and wants to stick with science.

The Story: When space pirates attack the ship Callista is on, the alarm sounds and the ship fills with smoke. Callista and her friends try to get to their life pods with everyone going insane on the ship. They run into the scary alien pirates, who are happy to see the three human women, but aren’t expecting them to fight back, killing some of the pirates. They never make it to the pods when the ship crashes on a hot desert planet.

The Hero: Ladon - he was the alpha and the leader of his city which is now abandoned and he is on his own. He is out on a hunt when he sees a massive spaceship crash land on his planet. He wants to make it first to the wreck to gather treasure from the ship. He hopes there might be survivors as his race is dying, there aren’t many people left and no females. When he sees a female a bit away from the wreckage, he determines he will take her.

The world building is pretty good, there are a lot of dangerous creatures on the planet and Ladon keeps thinking about something called Epis, that Callista needs to survive. They don’t speak the same language and there are no language translators, so they have trouble communicating through much of the book, though they try to teach each other words from their respective languages. It isn’t until very late in the book where they are able to really communicate.

This book was told in dual points of view by a dual narration. It and was narrated by Tristan James and Jillian Macie. I like Jillian Macie’s voice and she is a great voice actor/narrator. She shows a lot of emotion through her voice. Tristan James has a good voice, but speaks in a bit of a monotone so he could be better, but he isn’t bad either.

Okay

I did not like Carissa‘s character she was just whiny complaining and she was really no help she basically didn’t even tell him the things that were going on when she could talk she didn’t even help other people to talk to him after she discovered that she could download the language

My review

Story was good although it’s similar to another author’s alien series. I like the male lead character but the female lead kept getting on my nerves to the point where I had to keep forwarding some of her parts in the book.
I am interested to read on to book 2 but if the female lead is anything like she is in this 1st book, i don’t see myself going on in the series. If you’ve read Tana Stone’s Barbarians of the Sand Planet series, you’ll see that the first book in that series and this first book are similar in a lot of ways except that series was pretty funny.
Is this boom worth a credit? Depends whether or not you like alien books I guess.
Will I be getting book 2? I’ll probably hope it’s on kindle unlimited so I don’t use a credit for it in case I can’t stand the female lead in the book too.

Such a fun read

This has a little bit of everything. Action, adventure, romance, a humans being humans. I wish there was more from the male perspective but the bits that are there are good to read.

Hot Alien Dragon!

I totally enjoyed this book, it was action packed, and with plenty of well known sci fi jokes, and with a hot, alpha dragon, what more could you want? Calista and Ladon are a great match, and fun to get to know, well worth a read.

Not for me

I was so disappointed with this story very childish it should be for ya (apart from the sex)

It’s a shame it could have been great but written as if for young ones.

loved it

it was too short. I didn't want it to end! I wasn't sure how I felt about the male readers voice but it grew on me fairly quickly which surprised me.
