Turning of the beast

Grady forever hated Christmas. His father was cruel and no one was sad that he was dead. Now seen as the lonely Beast who no one bothers one woman seeks him out to save Christmas for the whole town. This book is exciting and a love story that changes the Beast into the Prince to love forever.

A little more story A little less PU***

I like the story and I don't mind sex scenes, but I can't stand the p-word. I think overall I like the writing style, but the use of that word repeatedly is a lack of imagination. The author is a talented writer, but it seems to me she falls back on the same old details in her sex scenes.

SHORT..... BUT PACKED FULL OF HAPPINESS

First of all this is actually book 0.5 in the Sinclair Billionaire series and I purchased this Novella because I had already listened to book 1 No Ordinary Billionaire which was about Dante and this Novella is about his brother Grady.

Anywhoo back to the book, this was a short but very enjoyable listen about the hermit Grady Sinclair but he had good reasons to dislike mixing with people, hating parties and had feeling like he was different from the rest of the Sinclairs. He dreamed of fitting in with the rest of his four siblings but he never did because of the actions of his cruel Father..... but, at 18, fate stepped in and helped him out.

Thirteen years later, Emily fell on his doorstep (literally) desperately looking for a donation for the broke Charity Youth Centre where she was a Director and when handsome Grady himself opened the door it was game over for both of them because Grady made her an offer she couldn't refuse. It was a charming, funny, sweet, tender, romantic and heroic story as they clashed, argued, made mad passionate possessive love and shared Christmas together. With a couple of short drama filled near death experiences thrown in too.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, a great narrator who could do male voices well and it was under $10 (and it was a bargain at only $5.24 while on sale) it was a very worthy buy so saving a credit for a more expensive listen.

ugggg fast forwarded it mostly

ridiculous tripe, I like a good romance but this was too hard to swallow!!! Spóiler: Within a week of knowing each other, he saved her twice from a bullet and drowning, let's her go through his finances ect this was just ignorant. The narrator did a good job and she tried.

Short & Sweet

This was a nice, short romantic story. It was pretty predictable, but I didn't mind that much. The only think I think could have used some real work was the love scenes. The vocabulary seemed repetitious and a bit uncreative, but it didn't take a lot away from the story.

I liked that this was a shorter story than what I'm used to. It cut to the chase and didn't have time to drag anything out. No part took longer than it needed to to be played out.

I would recommend this book if you want to read a romantic novel, but don't have the time to devote to a lengthy plot.

All in all, not the best book i've ever read, but it was a good way to pass the time.

Good Start to the Series

Good Start to the Series

This is just a novella, so is considered number 0.05 of the series, but still the beginning.

We get a good introduction to the Sinclair family as we start with Grady, the Amesport Beast.

This short story is a play on the Beauty and the Beast classic, minus the fantasy elements. Grady Sinclair is our Beast and Emily Ashworth is our Beauty. There is still a castle of a house and hiding hero, but Grady is not quite as beastly as he is made out to be. He is just a recluse with a social anxiety issue. Our Beauty, however, does make a deal out of desperation.

Grady is adorkable and totally going on my book boyfriend list!

By the end of the book, all the Sinclair children have been introduced. It is not totally clear on their birth order, but the prologue leads to different impressions than the epilogue does.

There are characters mentioned that are part of another series by J. S. Scott, so if you have read The Billionaire's Obsession Series, some people in this one will be familiar to you. Given how tight these boys are, I wonder if Grady has already shown up in that series. It is quite possible that all the Sinclair siblings have made appearances, but I have not read that one yet.

The narrator Elizabeth Powers is excellent, however the volume level of the recording is not consistent. The whispers that are used to represent the heroine thoughts, get so low to the point that the volume needs to be raised to hear what is being said. This consistently takes you out of the story because of the need to constantly adjust the volume, which is not always easy to do on certain devices.

Overall I give this 5 of 5 stars!

Really do not like this narrator,

I read these books first and really liked them, the narrator who reads all the Sinclair books has ruined them for me. She says everything in a horrible breathy girlie voice even when the person is supposed to be angry. love the story but she has ruined the audio books for me

Romantic, enjoyable and very seasonal

Although a little predictable at times, this is still a very good story within the series and also an excellent Christmas read.
A little rushed in parts - not sure why this was so much shorter than the others in the series. Nevertheless, the story and the story teller keeps you wanting to know more. I think it would have benefitted from a bit more detail in parts.
That said I still thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend and will 'read' again.
