Publisher's summary

The timeless tale continues....

The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now best-selling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett.

As the classic story, first told over half a century ago, moves forward, the greatest love affair in all fiction is reignited; amidst heartbreak and joy, the endless, consuming passion between Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler reaches its startling culmination.

Rich with surprises at every turn and new emotional, breathtaking adventures, Scarlett satisfies our longing to reenter the world of Gone with the Wind, and like its predecessor, Scarlett will find an eternal place in our hearts.

That was so good

All lose ends were tied up and there was adventure with familiar and new characters. I love that it's the same narrator as with the first book. It didn't even feel like listening to a sequel, it felt like listening to a continuation.

Amazing

This made everything about Gone With the Wind make sense. It gave Scarlett a chance to be human.

Scarlett

A wonderful sequel from a book by another author! I loved Gone With the Wind as a young girl and I would never learn more about Scarlett’s life without Rhett. Thank you Alexandra Ripley for writing this book with all it’s twists and turns. I would recommend it to all of my friends!

Still One of my Favorites of all Time

Listening to the audiobook was the fifth time I’d read Scarlett, and it reminded me again why I love it so much. The author shows how Scarlett becomes more dimensional than in GWTW. You see her grow up before your eyes, even as she continues to blunder her way through life. The unconscionably selfish and unlikeable heroine of GWTW slowly matures through her pain and grows on you until you find yourself rooting for her — not a small feat for any author. Alexandra Ripley found the perfect ending to Scarlett’s journey, and I wish I could have told her so before she passed away.

A true delight

The narrator truly brought the characters to life. I loved every minute. Each character had a distinct sound making it easy to follow. Scarletts character development was just beautiful. I cant wait to listen to it again.

This was a wonderful story!!!

I loved Gone with the Wind as a movie, then had my mind blown with the Book, then I moved on to this. I shed a tear when I finished it. This was a wonderful story and a tale of two determined people and Scarlett is a woman we all wish we had the courage to be. This book will not disappoint.

Scarlet the sequel

You know I don't cry very often but this book made me cry when the English and Irish were fighting and the priest died. So very sad, the fighting. The book as a whole was a great follow up to the original. I recommend this book if you read or listened to the first classic book.
