Better the second time around~
If you could sum up Layers Peeled in three words, what would they be?
Surprising, Heated, Secrets
What did you like best about this story?
Everything! But I think Tristan's love for Allie, along with Allie's strength.
Which scene was your favorite?
Hmmm. Maybe their wedding scene.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Romance done right~
Any additional comments?
This is the second book with Tristan and Allie. It picks up where the last book left off with more surprises than one would expect. Allie is recovering from a gunshot wound, is now dealing with her relationship with Tristan and the baby that was a surprise.
Not much is what it appears in this book and I really enjoyed that. The past makes a reappearance which brought forth more surprises. Yeah, this book is full of them. The progression of the story moved about with the growth of their relationship, their pasts both coming to a head and a more than complete ending with the HEA that I so love.
As with the first and now second books in this series, I read them and now I had the pleasure of listening to them on audiobooks. The narrator was perfection. Her voice and reading style added to the depth and heat of the book. I could not have been more pleased. So, if you enjoy a good audiobook pick this set up.

Hunting Monsters and finding peace
Allie and Tristan are making plans for their futures to be together.
Tristan, owner of Cross Enterprises, has a few surprises for Allie as well. And she won't see them coming.
Allie's past continues to haunt her, stalks her if they don't work together, trusting and sharing information essential or everyone's life is in danger.
The highs and lows...surprises and heart wrenching story for some of the characters in this book makes it difficult to put down.
Julia Emlen does an amazing job giving suspense, and personalities to all the characters.

Freaking awesome book
This has been a wonderful series. I had received this for an honest review. Not only did Lacey Silks do a wonderful job writing this series but Julian Emlen did a wonderful job narrating this book. I found myself talking to the characters from time to time. Either shouting run or go for it girl..LOL
Tristan was sexy as all get out. He is like the perfect book boyfriend. He had been seriously hurt physical and inwardly by a girl named Kendra. By the time this book was out Tristan had already put the girl he loved by the name of Allie undercover to save Kendra. Allie got hurt rescuing Kendra in book 1 and was in the hospital where she found out she was pregnant. I so wanted to scream by the way Lacey ended book one.
So this book picks up were book one left off. Allie is ready to tell Tristan he is going to be a daddy and Tristan just fired her before she could tell him. So there was a lot of emotion at the end of book one and the beginning of book 2.
I have to say that Allie’s world had to be crumbling when she heard Tristan tell her he was firing her. She had already felt like he had been pulling away from her. Here she was going to tell him they were expecting and he just pulls the rug out from under her. Does he still want her? Is he wanting to get back with Kendra?
Allie finds she is fighting with jealousy. She has so many insecurities due to her past and what her mother went through. This book was named so well. Not only does Tristan have so many scars when it comes to relationship but so does Allie. They both need healing that I think they can only give each other. Both have trust issues and will have to learn to get pass it.
I found it so funny that Emma gets to chose the baby name. Funny Lacey; Barney, Betty, or Puss.. I about fell over laughing. Will Emma chose a good baby name? Reading about Emma having to keep secrets was funny as well. I could mentally picture her jumping up and down with the look like she was going to explode.
I loved Laura and James in the book. We met them in book one and they were special then, but in this book they became more special.
My heart did break for Marissa. Allie felt such a special connections to her. Allie does not find out until much later why. We met Marissa in book one and that is where Allie hated she could not help her then. Allie wants so much to save her? Can Allie get to her in time?
Tristan tells Allie that her mother is safe from the monster David Wright. Allie still feels uneasy and learns later why. Will Allie and her mother ever be safe from the monster from their past?
There is so much that happens in this book. Allie’s emotions are all over the place and Tristan worries about her all the time. Allie will be in danger more then once. Her and Tristan’s connection grows stronger. I so loved their story.

Absofrickenlutely!!
This had to be one of the most amazing books I’ve heard. The humour, pain and love throughout this story was incredible. The Cross family continues its search for Ally’s nightmare and to find the people behind the sale of girls.
Lacey does a fabulous job of telling the tale but also drawing the reader into the family.
Great read, full of emotions and ending with happy tears.

What a fantastic story!
Layers Peeled is book 2 of the Layers Trilogy, by Lacey Silks. This story continues right where book 1 left off. This story has danger, erotic romance and is a suspense thriller. At one point, I even cried! I absolutely loved both books in this series so far. Poor Allie is such a strong woman for going through so much in life. Allie and Tristan make the perfect couple.
The author, Lacey Silks did a fantastic job on this book. I loved the plot. I had no idea what was going to happen next. It is a roller coaster of thrill and chills! The narrator, Julia Emlen delivered a perfectly flawless narration to us complete with emotions and accents! This book couldn't have turned out any better! Great job ladies!
I received this audiobook for free and if I liked it, maybe I could write a honest review. This book is awesome!
