Publisher's summary

A full-length feel-good romance with a HEA! Includes a bonus preview of Cynthia's huge hit, Dom Vs. Domme.

Neither of them wants romance.

Too bad that's what they desperately need.

Rachel Taylor's freelance business barely pays her own bills, let alone her mother's. Her social life is confined to one friend working at the neighborhood coffee shop. And her love life? Duds and heart breakers.

Then, hot, young, and artistically talented Zachary Feldman walks into her life. Too bad she's just made a vow of celibacy.

Sometimes what an old, broken heart needs is a second chance at love.

Playboy Zack, third son of the affluent Feldman Steel empire, doesn't have a lot expected of him. Which is why he spends his whole day on his yacht when he's not pursuing his next artistic endeavor.

Women are amusements. And no one amuses him more than Rachel, the beguiling woman he meets in a quiet coffee shop.

"I'm not ashamed to say I'm halfway to loving you."

A game of hard-to-get culminates with Rachel agreeing to one thing: being "just friends" with a man who has made his intentions clear.

Set on the serene waters, in the creative studio, and beneath the hot lights of a bangin' Indian wedding, Just Friends is the perfect way to end your summer.

Enjoyed this one a lot.

This was a great listen. I enjoyed the story and the characters. There was a lot of love and tension and I found that the author had a great way of spinning the words to keep me engaged and wanting to see how things came together in the end. Not to mention the voice chosen to read was fabulous. It really only added to the story making it that much more enjoyable. I was given this audio book in exchange for a review.

Swoon Worthy

I was given this free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book had all the feel goods. I loved how she made a pact and on the same day he fell into her lap. It's definitely worth the listen.

Sweet and Sexy, Friends-to-Lovers Romance!

This is a sweet and sexy friends to lovers romance. Billionaire artist, Zack, is captivated by an intriguing woman in a local coffee shop. He is instantly attracted to her and can't stop thinking about her. Rachel is a waitress and a freelance Japanese translator who is struggling to pay her bills. She is excited this sexy man is interested in her. Unfortunately, Rachel has sworn off men and even tho the sparks fly for her as well, she talks him into being just friends for the summer. Zack breaks all his rules for her and so their slow burn, sweet romance begins. There was so much to love about this opposites attract story. There are fun characters, witty banter, and a romantic location. Narrator Reagan West is amazing at bringing this world to life. She makes each character even more intriguing and distinguishable and her timing is spot on. She really makes sweet romance even better.

Second chance at love

If you would like a book with a lot of feels, this is it! Zack is an artist always on the lookout for his next muse when he sees Rachel in the window of a coffee shop. Rachel is working there, just finished talking with her best friend making a vow of celibacy for the summer. Immediate attraction makes this vow difficult, but the two decide to explore a true friendship, spending time together and enjoying getting to know each other. Each has had horrible relationships in the past and this second chance at love is written beautifully. It's an extremely slow burn and we truly get to know the characters, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their hopes and dreams. Dane weaves some real life circumstances in when we meet Rachel's mom who has dementia, living with the heartache of losing a parent to such a disease as well as how to take care of her. This kind of background story always makes me feel more connected to how truly life is not just the fairy tale. It is a refreshingly, beautiful book.

Reagan West is wonderful with her narration. She reads at the perfect pace, and her voices are easily distinguishable. I love her ability to convey the many emotions, from lust to love, frustration to happiness, fearful to calmness, she makes this an enjoyable listen.

Strangers to lovers

Enjoyed the instant chemistry between the characters. It was a little on nerve racking side to see them figure out their different upbringing and merge their lives into something manageable for them. I could really imagine the joy of the friends wedding and the heartbreak of her moms condition.

Slow burn

This is a good read/listen by Cynthia Dane. The story line is a bit slower than her other books. I absolutely loved the slow burn romance. One of my favorites. I didn't know some of the characters from her other books, but enjoyed the cameo of those I did. Even though this is a standalone book, I wonder if it'd been even better if I'd read her books in order? Looking forward to the next one.

Reagan West did an excellent job as narrator. She does the male and female voices well. A few times I was confused about whether the character/s were thinking or speaking out loud. I'm not sure if that was a narrator issue or just the way the book was written. Reagan's voice is easy to listen to for a long period of time. Great job!
