Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Hannah Howell delivers adventure and instant attraction in this all-new Wherlocke Family novel.... For Lady Primrose Wootten, nothing has been ordinary since her father, the baron, died, and his wayward family filled the estate with greed and treachery. Primrose knows if she can just track down her brother, he can send the odious relations on their way. But instead she finds this enormous, powerful stranger and entirely forgets what she was doing in the first place.... Sir Bened Vaughn isn't much afraid of a pistol. But he is a bit afraid of the woman holding it, who stirs up something so primal he's not sure he can shake it off. Vaughn is an honorable man, and he knows he has no right to desire Primrose. Yet he does have an obligation to help her, and as they learn more about her brother's disappearance, he realizes that means staying by her side...wanting her all the while...and wondering how much longer they can resist temptation....

Good read..

Any additional comments?

This was a good story and I really liked Bened and Primrose. I was looking forward to Bened’s story and Primrose suited him perfectly. She was kind and very brave. She thought nothing of holding a gun on someone, or bashing them in the head with a shovel. And when Morris and Brevan went to save Bened, who had been captured by Primrose’s murderous Aunt Augusta, she was right there with them. But it seemed to go on and on without any real excitement. This was a least favorite of the whole series. It was kind of repetitive, too. It could have been a much smaller book. 352 pages was too long. You could have dropped 100 pages and not missed a thing. I still liked it, because I like Bened, but I wouldn’t read it again like I would the others.

The one thing that was so annoying was the sooo 21st century phrase, “end her.” We just need to “end” Aunt Augusta. Someone just needs to “end” her. When are we going to "end" her? Really? I think that’s a totally stupid phrase to begin with and now I have to read it in a historical novel. UGH.

I do love Modred (the Duke) and Dob. They are so real and down to earth. But then, so are Morris, Brevan, Argus, Lorelei and Penelope. And I really liked Simeon, Lilybet, Uncle George and Frederick. Aunt Augusta did get what she deserved but her crew of bad guys really did suck. Every time you turned around she’d have to hire new ones because the others were either killed or overpowered and the magistrate was called to haul them away. That was really quite funny.

One reviewer called the sex in this book “mild.” I would have to beg to differ. Explicitly written sex, including oral, is far from “mild.” Which is fine with me but a lot of you don’t like that so you might want to skip this book.

As to the narrator: The narrator was a little terrible this time. She was rather robotic and except for a couple of times ‘yelling’ she had no emotions at all. Not once when it called for a laugh did she laugh. She did the voices ok but overall I thought she kinda sucked. Polly Lee (Ashford McNab, I think) has always been one of my favorites but not this time. Most of the time she just sounded bored.

More Please

I have greatly enjoyed the whole collection. Have checked to see if a new one had been written. Have even thought of how I personally would continue Maudrids journey, thought several more stories before growing up him to a force to be reckoned with. I would not want Maudrids story to be a after thought. But a on going progression though, till the best book of all.
I thought this book to be a disappointment, for some reason I thought the story had been done as him having a heavy accent. Glad it wasn't.
I enjoyed it as much as the rest. Hope for more.

Being Noble

Any additional comments?

I have listen to this book more than once and have read the other reviews , all I can say is that I can listen to Ms. Howell book over and over again. I like what she does with the children in her books and the women in her books are strong characters. She is also real in most male and female relationships because females are the ones to fall in love before some males. I look forward to her next book in the series and hope she writes more on the Vaughn and Wherlocke .

I couldn't put this down. A truly enjoyable read. Hannah Howell never fails to please. The narrator was perfect and added to the perfection of this book.

MORE Wherlocke/Vaughn Stories Please!

Loved Bened's & Rose's story. There were so many hysterically funny moments I found myself laughing out loud. Polly Lee, like Ashford McNab, did a phenomenal job narrating! It was a little weird not hearing Bened's Welsh accent as it's been described & applied in the previous 6 books but that's about the only thing that took a minute to get used to. I'm sad that this is the last book in the series. I'm not ready for it to be over as I've loved every one of this fascinating family's stories & shenanigans!

The series is interesting

If you could sum up If He's Noble in three words, what would they be?

The magical family is so enjoyable. This one not as exciting as last but still worth a listen.
