Publisher's summary

Fleeing an obsessed suitor, Fiona MacEnroy rides recklessly into Scotland's wildest hills and is captured by a horde of well-armed men. Instead of battling for her life, she finds herself swept away by a powerful stranger and carried off to a remote, forbidding keep. Oddly, here at Scarglas, a place shrouded in mystery and the black reputation of the rogue clan MacFingal, Fiona feels a strange, comforting sense of safety…and a consuming passion for its rugged laird.

Spellbound by Fiona's beauty yet determined to fight the longing she ignites, Ewan MacFingal plots to ransom Fiona back to her kin. Sworn to protect his eccentric clan against the dangers invading Scarglas, he refuses to be weakened by the power of a woman whose every glance and touch tell him that she is everything his heart desires. Now, as pride and passion war within, dark peril and forbidding secrets will force them to trust what has yet to be spoken-the unshakable power of a timeless love.

Fantastic book.

Great book. My only complaint is that there is no epilogue. I REALLY wanted one for this book.

Great read

All of these story's are predictable and similar. Even so I can't stop listening and I keep coming back. I try other books but aside from Diana Gabaldon, Sara Donati and Julie Garwood, (who are my absolute favorites) I keep coming back to Hannah Howell.

Really enjoyed it

Even though every Murray story is the same with only the names changed, I still have loved everyone except for Peyton’s. Skip that one

Ruined by Narration

I was enjoying story line and main character but, unfortunately, the narration was making me sea sick so I couldn't go on😱

Another Amazing Highland Book!

I'm absolutely loving this series! They're easy listens, great story lines, brilliant lead female & male characters & awesome side characters, those of which we come to see are the main lead characters of the next book. There are plots & twists & turns. The whole series is most definately a, "Must-Listen!." You will not regret it. I highly recommend starting at book#1, and watch, you won't be able to wait until you get the next story on!! Bravo Hannah Howell!! (Ps- also by Hannah Howell *& other various authors including the fabulous Lynsay Sands- her "McNachton Vampires," series. Bloody Briliant and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!!)
Ps- I wouldn't listen to these books on speakers in the car with your kids in the back 😉 🌶🌶🌶

I love the story... the reading was ugh

I really do not like how she reads, it is quite whiny and she has a lot of mispronunciations! I can barely stand it. At first I thought she just had a bad Scottish accent, but then she just says things in an English accent without correct pronunciations. She says Sigimor’s name as Seymor it is terrible! How the hell do you mispronounce that? She totally renamed the character. If you are a stickler for pronunciations and having your character’s keep their names, I do not recommend this reading. I read it in a Scottish accent in my head and it is way better. It is also very high pitched.
