Ten years ago, young Elspeth Murray rescued a wounded knight and lost her heart forever. Now a stunning beauty and gifted healer, she is reunited with Cormac Armstrong when he saves her from an unwanted suitor. But Cormac is promised to another, a woman who has blinded him to her ruthlessness. Now Elspeth must battle against the odds to claim a man and a love she will not be denied.
Cormac is stunned by the desire Elspeth's kiss awakens - and cannot resist the temptation she offers. A man of honor, he is torn by his pledge to another and his growing need for Elspeth. Blinded by duty and indecision, he is unaware that he is a pawn in a clever and deadly trap from which Elspeth is desperate to save him. But by the time he understands her gift of selfless devotion will it be too late to claim this perfect love?

Cormac and Elpeth flee to the Royal Court but on the way Elspeth must convince him to break a vow to another beauty by any means she can - including sex.
Lovely story, yes a little unbelievable, but my fellow romance listeners - that's why we love them so much!!
Great start to a new Highland Clan

This particular novel had a few subplots under the two main ones. One of these bothers me as it laid questions in the telling, yet the answers are not there. Without a true spoiler, a character's parentage is alluded to, the readers are provided an answer through a description . However, it was left like that. No reason for adding the character, the suggestion of the parentage, or reason for knowing who the parent is. Perhaps it will be brought up in a future story, but there is no allusion to that. It does not seem purposeful, so time will tell? Or not! Regardless, the tales move forward.
